Is the food strictly from USA
Answer by • Oct 31, 2017
For a product to carry a “Made in the USA” label, it must be made from all or virtually all products from the United States. For pet food, that includes the packaging, ingredients, and production of the food. This product is made in the USA.
Does this "small bites" bag come in a larger size?
Answer by • Oct 22, 2019
This formula is currently only manufactured in a 7 pound bag.
Are these kibbles smaller than the standard z/d dry food?
Answer by • May 14, 2020
This kibble is a small bite size that is designed specifically for small breed dogs.
I have two small dogs. Both around 13 lbs. One has itchy skin and the other has bad teeth. Both are seniors. Is there one dry food I can give them both?
Answer by • Jun 29, 2019
This z/d recipe is specially formulated to help reduce your dog’s food and skin sensitivities. The Hill's Prescription Diet t/d Dental Care Chicken Flavor Small Bites Dry Dog Food has a unique kibble shape and size cleans the tooth surface by scrubbing away laden plaque in the mouth to promote systemic health. At this time, there's no combination recipe.
My 7.5 lb multipoo has had a sensitive stomach since I got him as a puppy. After about with diarrhea that lasted over a month, the vet recommended we try this food and steroids due to a concern about possible rice allergy or sensitivity in addition to chicken. The diarrhea did stop, however, he started to have difficulty pooping, and with strain for a long time regardless of stool consistency. It also had a strong bad odor. He’s been on this food for just over a month and the licking, itching, and biting paws continues. I’m not too sure if the pieces were too small or too hard but he didn’t seem to chew them well. I’m sure this works well for many, but the hunt for the right food continues for us.

Not for me
My dog has had digestive issues on and off since I got him as a puppy. After having a flare up with diarrhea for over a month and a food switch the vet recommended we try this food in addition to a round of steroids. After switching to this food diarrhea stopped, but he was having difficulty going to the bathroom, even after adding fiber to his diet. He also continued biting and licking his paws and was just as itchy if not more. He’s been on the food for just over a month. I’m sure this food works well for many, but the dog food hunt continues for us.

Not my favorite
Had to order the small bites for Cobi because the regular size Z/D was out of stock. It must be a difficult shape for him because he won't eat it. He does eat and like the regular size Z/D.

dog likes it and so does his stomach
my dog has had issues with chronic vomiting and occasional diarrhea for his entire life. he would throw up after every meal and could barely hold an acceptable weight. i dont know why it took my old vet so long to long to realize that we were coming in 8 times a year with the same issues. i gave up and went to a new vet who set us up with this food in just one visit.
the difference is night and day. teddy hasn't thrown up, has had perfect stools, no nausea, no loss of appetite, fantastic energy AND he likes it.
my only gripe is that they don't sell this food in 4 pound bags. i get it- the idea is that this food is supposed to last an 8-12 week trial. but.......i don't want to feed my dog 12 week old kibble. its not gonna stay fresh that long. my dog won't eat kibble that's been sitting in his bowl for just a few hours, imagine 3 months. yuck. he can barely get through a 4 pound bag before it goes bad.

Helped control digestive issues
After 4 months of digestive issues, my vet recommended this hydrolized protein diet to calm the obvious inflammation in my Yorkie's digestive tract, so we can better discover what things she's sensitive to. She's been on it for 2 weeks now, and I've noticed a marked improvement in her stool frequency, consistency, and smell (plus, no more vomiting!) Best of all, she likes the flavor so we had no battles about it. I can even give her these kibble as treats (unlike her previous regimen of cheese and chicken treats for training purposes). Given how expensive it is (understandably so, as it's specially processed), I hope I don't have to buy more than one bag while we figure out what she's sensitive to....but I'm glad this was an option for addressing her digestive issues!

Great for skin issues
Pugs are notorious for having skin issues. This is the only food pug can tolerate and not break out. I get the small bites to slow her down at feeding time.

Loved the flavor
I loved the flavor of this food and it cut back on my itching tremendously. I have less hot spots and don't chew my feet all day. I am a shih tzu and this review was written by me - Luke.
