About Hill's Prescription Diet GI Biome Food for Dogs

Hill’s GI Biome Diet

Hill’s Prescription Diet Gastrointestinal Biome dog food takes a different approach to digestive care. Each formula uses a specific blend of active fibers, known as ActivBiome+, to help your dog’s stomach break down food more efficiently and promote healthier stools and regularity. It also contains Hill’s S+OX Shield ingredients, formulated to promote urinary health.

Activate the Gut Microbiome

When it comes to canine digestive health, the balance between good and bad bacteria is key. Promoting the growth of good bacteria helps keep problematic bacteria in check and supports ongoing digestive well-being.

Know the Signs of Digestive Issues

If you notice vomiting, diarrhea or soft stools, straining, stomach gurgling, flatulence, appetite changes, lethargy or depression in your dog, it may be from digestive trouble. See your vet for more insight and see if changing foods can help.

Risk Factors

Many things can trigger digestive issues in your pup, including food sensitivities, inflammation and bacterial, viral or parasite infections. Your vet can help determine what’s causing the trouble and figure out how diet can play a role.

Pug Didn’t Like it

My 14 year old pug has always had a sensitive tummy . Recently he ate cat food and had to spend the night in the hospital. Two vets there suggested this food. After I slowly switched him to this food from another brand he loved it for two weeks and then one day he said “Nope I want the old stuff” and would not touch this. So I have almost a full bag of this left. I’m sure there are other dogs who are not as fussy and would love this.

Heals the Gut

This is the crème de la crème of dog foods for dogs with any digestive issues. My dog suffered from loose stools, straining, and being underweight since I adopted her last year. I tried so many different things and the vet specialist even said we needed to do a colonoscopy. But I wanted to just try more with the food route before putting her through that, and this has really healed her gut. Purina Pro sensitive stomach salmon got her in the right direction, but this food has really made her gut much more resilient. She used to be unable to tolerate anything and now she is getting most all treats and chews without issue. Worth the money, especially in what you save in vet bills. I’m so relieved that my girl is finally happy and healthy.

Relief!

Relief from severe loose stool since the day we adopted our pooch. Had him tested several times thinking it was Giardia but negative every time. Vet recommended this and we saw immediate results. I kept trying to mix in the old food but only had complete relief once switching to 100%. He is much happier too!

This product is best ordered on chewy.com

Our vet prescribed this dog food after results came back positive on a stool sample. The doctor had handwritten a prescription slip, but there was no way to provide it on the other websites I ordered from. Chewy.com does allow you to upload the prescription slip in a jpeg format. My order arrived the next business day. I rated this product four stars because the ingredients are not organic and include chicken meal.

so far.... so good

This little girl has suffered from intermittent bouts of diarrhea since adoption 5 years ago. The vet says she has colitis. She is VERY fussy and refuses all supplements. But she loves this food! Gobbles it right down! It was actually one of the vet techs that recommended the food. It's been 4 weeks now, and no issues. So far, so good!

This food is worth every penny

This food is a game changer! My Frenchie has always had digestive issues and after several vet visits and all the tests not finding anything wrong my vet recommended this food and he has not had any issues since switching.

this stuff is a game changer

My GSD has struggled with HGE and bloody stool for over a year. Ive tried meds, probiotics, other foods, you name it. My dog has had numerous vet visits, multiple tests, with no answers. I asked my vet to approve this food based on other reviews I read. Since being on this food, my dog has not had diarrhea or bloody poop! Im not sure if the food is the main cause but it has helped tremendously. I will continue to buy this. Chewy also has been delivering this the next day after ordering! Very happy.

Fixed the problem

My 14 year old dog was eating W/D for years, but she started having stomach problems and bloody poops. The vet recommended switching to Biome and that fixed the problem. She was a happy dog again. She ended up having other problems, like spitting up blood and dying about a month later, so who knows?

The best food!!!

My 10 year old dog began having blood in her poop. My vet diagnosed her with a Bowel Disease. She's been on this food for about a year and is doing fantastic. She has energy like a puppy, lost 5lbs and stabilized at 28lbs, her perfect weight.

The BEST food for my K9 with IBD

We have tried so many diets over the last 6 years with our adopted K9 with IBD. Even with gradual transitions from one prescription diet to another, nothing worked. This is the first and only one that has done the trick. No tummy squeals, no GI upset, no weird runny poop. It was just a matter of a few days when all the IBD symptoms vanished. Thank you to my vet who suggested it and to Hill's for making it!
