Overpriced, but it’s working well

My boy went to the EM vet for debris in his bladder that made him not eat. They prescribed him the Hills RX diet c/d, which I give him for dinner once a day l, and I give him this one for breakfast for budget reasons (he also gets a daily urinary vitamin). He’s picky and only likes tuna and veggies in his canned food, so the formulas for these two foods are very similar. They’re both Hills wet food tuna & veggies, this one just isn’t Rx. But for some reason the texture is more chunky/mushy in this one. He ate this food well at first, but after a few months he stopped liking it without a treat. He’d seriously be starving begging for food then refuse this stuff by itself. If your cat is picky about textures or just in general, this may be good. But keep the mushy texture in mind I guess. He hasn’t had any health issues since putting him on this food so that’s great! I just wonder why the quality and texture is so different between these two foods despite the formulas being similar.

Really good product!

Winner for weekly hairball relief

I have 4 cats and 1 Lucy..lol my feral who loves me only when I feed her. 3 out of 5 cats absolutely loved this food. Two are extremely picky eaters. I love most

I have 4 cats and 1 Lucy..lol my feral who loves me only when I feed her. 3 out of 5 cats absolutely loved this food. Two are extremely picky eaters. I love most all the ingredients in this. First several are high quality. No strong artificial fishy smell. My cat Socks is the only one with hairballs. After a week on this food for am and pm feedings. His hairball surprises on the floor for me have decreased. I don't hear him at 1 am gagging a hairball up. I have tried several medications and treats for hairball relief with no luck. I brush him several times a week. No other symptoms in his bloodwork. This is a winner, especially for Socks.

Great hairball control and my cat loves this food

My cat is a very picky eater and she ate this food the first time I offered it to her. My cat does not like pate so this being a stew was the perfect solution

My cat is a very picky eater and she ate this food the first time I offered it to her. My cat does not like pate so this being a stew was the perfect solution. She has been eating this canned food along with her dry food and has had a remarkable decrease in hairballs — only one since starting this food! I have noticed an increase in her stool volume since starting this food. I like the small cans as I only have one cat, so there’s no wasting any food. Overall, I think the food works well in controlling hairballs and my cat loves the taste.

To be honest, I was mixed about what star rating I gave this food but I ultimately decided my own personal opinions shouldn’t take away a star. Overall, the food was good. I have three cats and they all devoured it and licked their bowls clean. It also doesn’t have some of that nasty wet cat food smell that some of the others have. The size is perfect, all 3 cats would eat one can completely and then curl up and start purring. Now for the cons and what I was originally torn about. It’s supposed to be a stew but it’s more of a purée. You can’t really look at it and say “That’s tuna and vegetables!” It just looked like brown slop. I like it when you can actually see what you are feeding your cats in the wet food. That being said, it did its job. It fed my cats and they loved it. I also like the fact that it helps with the urinary tract so I don’t have to worry so much about my male cat. I think overall, this is a decent food. I don’t feel like I’m spoiling my cats with it but they do love it and that’s a win in my book.

I was worried because the vet said he had idiopathic cystitis from stress. I thought that this would be a good preventative urinary blockage food. After being on

I was worried because the vet said he had idiopathic cystitis from stress. I thought that this would be a good preventative urinary blockage food. After being on only this and the dry urinary formula. He got very sick lost a ton of weight. The vet said he had diabetes and his blood sugar was 409. Turns out this food is over 30% carbohydrates. I switched to a low carb high protein food immediately (the proper diet for cats) and his blood sugar went down and I avoided insulin. This food gave my cat diabetes! I just hope it did not cause too much permanent damage to my baby.

One of my cats has struggled with UTIs over the past few years and since starting him on this as a supplementary food alongside his normal food, I have yet to notice any new urinary issues. We've only been using it for about a month and a half, so if anything changes I will update the review. He likes the flavor and since my picky cat isn't a fan of chicken flavor, he doesn't have to fight her off for his portions. We've never really had issues with hairballs so I cannot attest to whether or not this formula really helps with that.

These are perfect sized cans for my cat. He gets one every evening and he is able to finish it all. There is no waste with it. The cans are easy to open, and the tabs don’t break off. The food also comes out of the can with a couple taps so I don’t have to scrape it with a spoon. I like having a high quality canned food to make sure my cat is consuming enough water throughout the day.
