perfect for my needs

I bought the oral care line completely by accident thinking it was going to be small since there’s a little guy on the bag. well seems like big or small the kibble

I bought the oral care line completely by accident thinking it was going to be small since there’s a little guy on the bag. well seems like big or small the kibble is designed for dogs to chew as long as your baby isn’t a gulper. this line strangely fits all my needs however for my new 8lb 2yo beagle daschsund rescue. while he is not very food motivated he’s a chewer and he LOVES chewing this stuff. it seems he’s quite happy taking his time to munch on them so I let him graze throughout the day to get him to eat as much as possible until he reaches a stable weight. I was also looking out for food with higher fiber without being weight conscious or with less calories and this fits the bill! he leans towards gland issues so i like to supplement with pumpkin and now i don’t have to be as vigilant about it. another random bonus is that my first boy is a resource guarder and he actually hates this stuff, so I don’t have to worry if he bullies his little brother from eating. anyways thanks to hill’s for making an oddly unique kibble for my dog. To be honest, I was a little skeptical if this kibble size is really okay for small breeds in the long run and if they would be just as motivated to eat it as the more common sizes, but it seems it’s going to depend on your dog’s personal preference as much as other kibble characteristics like flavor, brand, etc. They said it’s meant to be fed regularly just as any other so I’ll trust the scientists on this one.

My 4 year old Cavapoo loves this dental food, she is very prone to dental disease genetic, which started to show up a few months after her adult teeth grew in. We have used the regular sized oral care for years. I decided to try the small breed oral care to see how she likes it. She is 17 lbs and easily chews this food with her molars. I can see how she uses her tongue to push the nuggets to the back of her mouth to bite down just as they are designed to do. I toss them into her pile of toys or load a food puzzle with them to keep her entertained. She gets extremely bored if I don’t make eating a game and isn’t interested in eating otherwise.

Too hard to chew--so dog swallowed whole

I have an 18-mo. old Rat Terrier, so his teeth are great! I gave him the kibble to try and he was unable to chew it an break it down into crunchy bites, so he swallowed

Size of pellet and density

My vet told me to switch to a dog food that helps with plaque and tartar since my dog has lost teeth because of this. I chose this one because its label describes

My vet told me to switch to a dog food that helps with plaque and tartar since my dog has lost teeth because of this. I chose this one because its label describes the food as mini. It is not. Pellets are at least 3/4 of an in cubes and hard as rocks. My dog struggled with the few pellets I had her try. I even tried to see if crushing them would help. took a lot of force with a rolling pin to get it to crack.

Dogs love these “big bites” + help clean their teeth!

These are used as training treats and my pups love them! If this was their actual food, I would be happy with it because they eat it and they can’t just swallow

Highly recommended for training or for their normal food to help with their teeth health.
