Multi-cat household with urinary issues here (siamese and tortie). My girls used to be on ProPlan Urinary Tract Health because it had less calories than other brands...all of the sudden they decided to not like it anymore. So, I went ahead and bought this one and they are obsessed with it! One of my cats has learned how to unscrew the lid of the container just to get a little extra snack. As for urinary health - this is my 2nd bag and so far they still pee like crazy and seem to be doing just fine.
We subbed Iam’s urinary for the vet prescribed Hills bc our FKD cat didn’t like the Hills. Iam’s worked just as well for him when combined with Hills canned, and we also found that our other 3 loved it. Since it’s affordable enough it’s now everyone’s dry food. Highly recommend.
It is a good product so far. My cat seems to enjoy the taste of it. He is not picky though. It is a little stinkier than the Purina Urinary Tract Health kibble though, but in this case, it works better for us, since I hide kibble around the house. My cat has not had any urinary tract issues so far, and this is more of a preventative measure.
4 out of my 5 cats really enjoy their Iams dry food. 4 of them will eat it every day. My 5th guy only eats it a little bit. All of them hate the doctor prescription dry food so I am glad that they don't mind the Iams. They prefer the taste and I prefer the price.
Thank you Iams for making an affordable high quality palatible food for kitties with UTI issues. While it has gotten somewhat more expensive its in my opinion the best quality for the money out there in the urinary food department. My kitties love the taste as well. My only complaint is that it seems to be frequently out of stock. Please continue to make a 22lb or larger variety! Two dew claws up!
Recently one of my cats was peeing blood so I took him to the vet. He got medicine and free samples of expensive urinary health food. He refused to eat any of the food and it would have cost me over $30 for a small bag. I decided to look for cheaper options. This one was a similar price to what they already ate and had good reviews so I decided to try it. Within a few minutes of putting it down my cat went right for it and ate it. Both of my cats eat it and like it. This will be their main food from now on.
This is the best company! Outstanding customer service. Every time I have had to contact this company for anything, I always get to speak to an actual person instead of struggling through a recording, and I always get my questions answered! Deliveries are always quick. Every company should strive to put out great products and have stellar employees like Chewy!
This food is amazing. Our cat suffered from crystals when we first adopted him and it was a terrible task trying to get him well. We succeeded, and for years had him on Rx urinary foods. He hated those cans and we tried every Rx possible and even non rx cans everytime reviewing ingredients thoroughly. It finally came down to him losing weight from simply hating the canned food. We were so worried to try a dry food, but I am SO glad we did. Our cat loves the flavor, is back to a healthy weight, and has started drinking water in healthy quantities. Fingers crossed he's had no medical issues and has remained healthy. If you're frustrated like we were, I'd suggest trying it.
Long time user It is an affordable substitute for prescription food. My cat does not have serious urinary issues. Compare ingredients and % before switching, discuss with your vet.
...I think Iams has quality products. Yet my cat will not eat this food. I know he is picky, but I've tried every trick in the book to get him to eat this and he will not. Even went as far as withholding food for a bit so he was really hungry but he just sniffs it and walks away. It will go to the Humane Society and hopefully other cats will like it. I'm sorry I can't give this a better rating.
