We were wary to try litter with a hamster but she went on her first try! She loves to dig in her pee corner so I recommend using some sort of box and layering quite a bit of sand or bedding with the litter, or whatever is most comfortable for your hammy.
Hamsters use it for the complete opposite LOL!

My hamsters use the potty litter to roll in and bathe themselves in. As long as they love it I LOVE it LOL! They poop occasionally here and there.
Good for rats!

First time using litter for my rats. It's a good size amount and will likely do two cages per box. It doesn't have a strong smell and seems to be odour absorbing
Not what expected

The bag is really small and I am not certain it is working. He still poops all over cage. Great price though.
Didn't work for my Guinea Pigs

Didn't work at all for my guinea pigs. If anything they thought it smelt too good and did their business in other corners instead.
Used it once

We bought this with the potty house & thought it would be a good way to train our hamster in his new cage. He kicked the majority of it out, & used the house for food storage. I guess you can't really predict what they'll like or how they'll want to use the products you buy for them, much like a human. :)
It really worked
on Aug 22, 2019
I was scared that my hamsters would eat it because they are young and I was introducing them to potty training. I was training them to make their bedding last longer and in their previous home they were just using the potty all over the cage with their siblings. Anyway I did the spotting and cleaning and putting the dirty tissue or use pellets to get some of their pee into their potty area. It worked faster when I added sand and scattered pellets all over the sand. And in a week they were fully using the potty area to pee (and poop sometimes in it). I've changed their area twice, but with the potty litter they knew where to go.
