This house can be used outdoors. The sleeping surface area is 19 x 24 inches and the size of your cats will determine how many cats that can fit in the space.

Can the heating pad be plugged in 24/7 and also is this good for all seasons?

This house can provide shelter for several feral cats. Its special design and heavy denier material protect outdoor cats from rain, snow, and wind. MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day. This item has been certified by MET labs to adhere to strict electrical safety standards.

Great heated shelter for outdoor cats!

This is a good shelter option for farm cats, strays and cats that just enjoy life outdoors so they can stay warm and dry. Our current cat is too destructive to live

This is a good shelter option for farm cats, strays and cats that just enjoy life outdoors so they can stay warm and dry. Our current cat is too destructive to live inside, so sleeps comfortably in his heated A-Frame on a chair on the covered front porch and can come and go as he pleases. I wrap a moving blanket around the shelter for added warmth during the cold months, and unplug the heating pad for the warm months. I’d suggest elevating the shelter off the ground and placing it away from food that may attract wildlife to keep your cat safe. I positioned the shelter so my cat can keep an eye on our door and anything going on in the yard. I recently ordered a second shelter for a local stray, and have recommended it to several neighbors who have cats who live outside full or part time. This was a great purchase, and my cat loves it!

Great concept, still trying to convince my cat

It was easy to put together but a little small for my cat. I think he would fit if he tried, but he thinks it’s a trap. I put food in to entice him and he just stuck

It was easy to put together but a little small for my cat. I think he would fit if he tried, but he thinks it’s a trap. I put food in to entice him and he just stuck his head in, snatched a piece, and ran out to eat it. Fortunately, it can be used without the house part. I’m hoping he’ll give the mat a chance on its own. I know he’ll love how warm and cozy it is, if I can just get him to try it.

Set up was easy, but way too small

There is a stray cat that I have been working with for roughly a year now. He finally let me pet him with a "barrier" 3 months ago. He now will come when I call,

There is a stray cat that I have been working with for roughly a year now. He finally let me pet him with a "barrier" 3 months ago. He now will come when I call, but will not allow me to pick him up or sit in my lap. He will now sit next to me though. He also refuses to come inside. That's fine though, we will get him a warming station. We selected this one thinking it might work. Small enough for that "cave" feeling, but not too small. Wrong. All wrong. It was far too small. Found a possum in it once though, so there's that. Don't bother with this one if you're looking for something for an adult cat.

Great product but not weatherproof

Started off great but even though on porch, rain entered the pet house and it was not useable until dried out. The mat was soaking wet and the temperature dropped

Started off great but even though on porch, rain entered the pet house and it was not useable until dried out. The mat was soaking wet and the temperature dropped to 29 degrees that night so stray Toka couldn’t use it. It is now tarped over so hopefully it will work like that.

This cat house is cozy enough for winter nights outside. We bought this for a feral cat who was sleeping on our porch. We had a thermometer inside that was part of a weather station, so we could monitor the temp inside her house and make sure she wouldn't freeze (we tried to get her inside every single day). So I know for a fact that the shelter with the heating pad plugged in keeps an outdoor cat warm. It was usually 5-10 degrees warmer than outside, and sometimes 20-30 degrees warmer inside when she laid down in the little tent!!! When it dropped to freezing, we were still unhappy that she was out there, but we knew it was about 50 degrees in her house. Highly recommend.

My barn cats take turns sleeping in it. Just purchased a second one so everyone can be warm during the Wisconsin winter. It is a bit small so if you have a bigger cat it might be too small, in my case it works out perfectly as the bigger cat is a big bossy and this give the little ones a comfy place to sleep. I highly recommend and think the small size will help keep the heat in. I will say I don't know how it would stand up to the elements being completely outside, I have put mine inside an (unheated, uninsulated) barn so it is protected from the elements.
