why is it not recommended for Ford F Series?

The Direct to Seat Belt Swivel Tether is not recommended for for Ford F series trucks because of reports from customers that the metal flange is not compatible with all of the buckles in these vehicles and there is the potential that it may become stuck in them.
Can you use this with a collar and not a harness?

This tether is designed for use with a harness. For the safety of your pet, it should not be attached to a collar.
Is this crash tested? If used with the kurgo harness, is it just as effective as the seat belt loop attachment?

This collar tether is not crash tested. This tether has a swivel carabiner that keeps helps you keep things straight, and the tether can live in the car, while keeping your dog safe.
Great idea. What if your dog steps on seat belt buckle button and unbuckles himself/ herself?

While it's entirely possible that a pet could step on the button to release the seatbelt, it's not likely. As it does take a good amount of force and the button needs to be pressed in, simply stepping on the button would not likely provide enough force to release it.

Swivel seatbelt

While on a long road trip to the Carolinas I realized my Weimaraner, Willow, got extremely anxious riding and wanted to come in the front seat. So while in SC I ordered this seat belt for the drive home. Within 5 minutes after connecting this seatbelt to my vehicles seat belt (a 2010 Lexus SUV) every time this seat belt would disconnect from the vehicles seat belt, so I could not use it for the long ride back home.

Defective metal attachments to seat belt

This is the first time I have ever had a problem with a Kurgo item. One of the metal attachment to the seat belt bent completely on first use. The second one ended up with my puppy coming loose in the car. It popped out and didn't click well into the seat belt attachment.

Tangle free and easy

I switched to this after my puppy managed to tangle himself in the clips of a dog car seat, and he's much happier with it. I've got the length set so he can stand but not wander around everywhere or get way out of the window, and it's been pretty much exactly what I needed. I like that I can just leave it in the car-- I've got one in each car now. High quality, and works great with his harness.
