Can you conceal the heater behind the tank where the filter and balls are housed?

The Lifegard Aquatics heaters fit inside the internal filter chamber and are concealed from view. Lifegard Aquatics Adjustable heaters are available in 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, and 300 watt sizes. Lifegard Aquatics Pre-set Heaters are available in 25, 50, 100, and 200 watt sizes and are "pre-set" to 78 degrees Fahrenheit.

does this aquarium have a top?

This aquarium does not include a lid. If needed, you can get one custom made at a local glass shop.

almost ok

Betta need 5 gallons and a lid none of which is this tank less you go larger tanks in this lineup. Still needs a lid and I’m unsure of the filter i personally wouldn’t risk it but if your betta doesn’t seem to struggle in here then it’s okish just needs a lid, lights and a heater and it’s ok just there better options.
