Chewy is "saving " about $0.50 on The Litter Genie by removing Two Small Springs that assist in closing the slide and seal the box to contain odors. I have used

Chewy is "saving " about $0.50 on The Litter Genie by removing Two Small Springs that assist in closing the slide and seal the box to contain odors. I have used this system for many years with ease and satisfaction but no longer! If you can only use one hand, this makes a huge differenc. If you have limmited mobility, this makes a huge difference. If you cannot easily bend over to 1. Support the container with one hand and 2. Pull out and manually push back the odor containing slide at the same time - it makes a huge difference. And All of this just to save a few cents on two small springs. This item is going back.. I have traded with Chewy for many many years.... I am very dissappointed in you.

I was looking through chewy website one day and I came across this cat litter genie and thought hmmmmm I’m going to take a look at it. So I did and I liked what I seen and read about so I ordered one and I am so glad I did. It is the best thing ever. It keep the smell away and I don’t have to change the bag as much. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I’ve seen diaper genies but I never would have thought that someone would invent a litter genie for cats. I am so happy that they did because it is so worth it

They took the springs off but left the slots to put them back. I recycled old litter genies and used the springs. You can also purchase very cheaply on an other

They took the springs off but left the slots to put them back. I recycled old litter genies and used the springs. You can also purchase very cheaply on an other website. The spring keeps the door closed. No order. Without spring you see the negative comments I have used litter genies for 18 years. It’s nothing without the spring loaded door.

Love the convenience and reduced waste

I am a cat "auntie"/foster parent who has cat sat for friends and family in the past, and these people have always sent their litter genie for me while doing care

I am a cat "auntie"/foster parent who has cat sat for friends and family in the past, and these people have always sent their litter genie for me while doing care. I just took on a foster kitty while his forever family looks for pet-friendly housing. They sent him with the basics, and a bunch of rolls of doggy poop bags for the soiled litter. I hated going through all those bags -- it was a hassle to open them and dispose them every time I scooped, and I live in a 3rd floor apartment building, so it was also annoying to carry them out to the dumpster on a daily basis lest they collect and junk/stink up my living space (I don't generate a lot of trash and typically only take out trash/recycling once a week). Buying this saves a huge amount of wasted plastic (it's not like those poop bags were anywhere near full) and saves me from having to toss out litter waste on the daily. It may seem like a frivolous expense, but for me it makes caring for the cat a lot more convenient and just a little bit easier (and that little bit actually means a lot because this cat has a lot of high maintenance behaviors).

I switched over to the litter, genie and I have been a little disappointed with it since I’ve started using it. First, it came in shipping box in pieces because it wasn’t in a box itself, then after figuring out how to use it and depositing my pets waste in it it doesn’t really hold in the odor as I expected. I’m debating on returning it. I’ve always had very good results from what I ordered fromchewy but this just doesn’t match up.

Litter Genies used to sturdier. The new ones are cheap and flimsy. Plus, they moved the cutter and now it's in a spot where it snags on the bag when you're removing

Litter Genies used to sturdier. The new ones are cheap and flimsy. Plus, they moved the cutter and now it's in a spot where it snags on the bag when you're removing it. Because of this, you can only lightly fill the bag, causing you to need to buy over priced refills more frequently. I bought cat litter that comes in a hard plastic pail and now I use that as a litter genie with empty bags like bread bags or frozen fruit bags or chip bags. More eco friendly and cheaper!

As a new cat owner I was very upset when I scoped my cat’s litter into a normal trash can and it stunk up the whole house despite being double bagged and put into another bag. I knew experienced cat owners mention this product a lot, so I had to get one. I’ve been so impressed after a month of use. You’d think it was just another trash can but it really locks in smell and honest guests say my house doesn’t smell like cat at all. There’s a small learning curve but it’s easy and clean to empty out once you get the hang.
