excellent quality, but birds won't go near it

This is my first time using a suet feeder. I read several articles online about feeding wild birds. I ordered this suet feeder and 2 different kinds of suet cakes from chewy on Jan. 20, 2022. I was impressed with the quality of this suet feeder, but since putting 2 suet cakes in and hanging it by a dwarf fruit tree where the birds hang out, I have not seen a single bird eat from it. I finally put 2 suet cakes out on a large flat ground platform, but no birds or even squirrels would try to eat this suet until I go out and use a fork to break up the cakes into small pieces. There is a pair of cardinals, 1 redhead woodpecker, and several pigeons, besides many sparrows in my yard. They all prefer eating the safflower seeds, and the hulled sunflower seeds that I sprinkle on the platform, and will only eat the suet pieces as a last resort. I wonder if the 2 brands of suet I bought were stale.

great feeder!

I had a suet feeder that was swamped with big birds like crows. The big birds can't get in this suet feeder. It's great-my songbirds love it!

Was surprised

This is the first suet feeder we have had that so far is squirrel proof! Birds like it too. Have no trouble getting in it.

Great value

Love this duet feeder. Metal top keeps suet safe and prevents squirrels from chewing their way through to suet. Metal outer cage allows birds to eat safely and keeps prey out. Highly recommend this feeder.

Completely squirrel proof.

I purchased one of these because I put suet out for the birds snd end up with squirrels hanging upside down on all the suet cages. The birds get left overs. This suet cage is awesome. The small birds can get inside and the large flickers can get their beeks in. I purchased two more, one more for me and one for my daughter. The squirrels are fine, the neighbor feeds them peanuts.

No Squirrels!

This is the perfect suet feeder.....double cakes so replacing less often, squirrels can't get in and most birds can!

Double Suet feeder

This suet feeder is very well-made of sturdy materials. Filling is very easy and the fact that it holds two suet cakes allows for more time between fillings. Shipping was very quick and I was very satisfied with the whole transaction.

Love product but wish birds did

We are happy with the caged suet feeder. However, we’ve not seen any birds that will go into the cafe. We have sparrow and finches mostly and they seem afraid of it!

Pretty but birds won't touch it

I have had this hanging in my tree where I had 2 previous suet feeders that squirrels would pull off the tree. It has been up for about a month and not a single bird has touched it. Very sad. Will leave it up and hope for the best

Suet feeder

Definitely squirrel proof but the birds don’t like it either.
