I have 4 cats and it works great on their breath. So, it does as advertised (hence the 3 stars). However I think I'm going to have to find something else because this is the second time I've tried it and one of the cats does this weird coughing/sneezing thing that he doesn't normally do. It happened the first time too but I figured it was pollen (we had a lot of flowers outside) but I forgot to put it in the water for the last month or two. I added it again today and he started doing the weird cough/sneeze/twitching thing so I think it's this product. I'm not sure what's in it that doesn't agree with him but please be careful !
Since Murphy was about 7, he's been getting tartar buildup and was needing to have his teeth cleaned every year, sometimes with extractions. Since I started adding Oxyfresh to his water, he's on his third year with no cleaning needed! I'm so pleased with Oxyfresh!
I noticed recently my 16 year old kitty had bad breath when she yawned in my face. So I thought I would give this product a try. I followed instructions and added it to my two water dishes. Immediately, I noticed an improvement in her breath and now she no longer has bad breath! I will continue to use Oxyfresh for my 4 cats.
Tried this product at the recommendation of my dog's specialty dentist who we need to see because he has teeth, gum and dental issues despite daily dental care. We followed the directions and after two days of using this product he starting having pain and redness in his mouth. We discontinued it immediately and the pain and redness disappeared. I'm not sure how you test this product to make sure that it is safe for your dog but it can have the opposite result than was intended.
I have been giving this to my senior pug for 1 1/2 years. Her breath was awful but due to her age and bloodwork they wouldn’t put her under to clean and remove rotten teeth. This product really has helped her gums and her breath is so much better! My 2 yr old drinks it too, and there is no tartar near his gums!
This seems to have improved my cats' breath, but I started using this at the same time as toothpaste so I can't say for sure which one helped most. But it makes one of my cats vomit immediately if she drinks the entire tiny serving in one sitting. I also suspect it might have caused or aggravated my cat's urinary tract issues (difficulty peeing, unusual labs that indicated irritation of the bladder) as the same thing but worse happened to a friend's cat shortly after starting this product too.
I have one cat with a sensitive stomach and one with a stomach of steel and this product makes them both sick; they both become listless to the point of concern and they both get diarrhea. I thought the symptoms might be due to other factors, so I tested by only giving the same chicken pate every day - nothing else to eat, no treats and only adding ONE DROP of this to their fresh water bowl (about three cups of water)...after ONE DAY the result, cats that looked miserable and had diarrhea (very runny, they would not look at wet food after, had to just feed them both dry after). I would not recommend this to anyone. I think it should be taken off the market.
One of our cats has some dental issues, and our vet recommended a water additive. I added this to their water, and a few hours later one of our cats vomited--this was the first time he's vomited in the six months we've had him, so it was significant. The only change was the water additive, so I dumped out the water, washed the bowl and refilled it with fresh water (without the additive). Our other cat vomited shortly after, and both cats had diarrhea for three to five days. Both cats also didn't eat well for several days, refusing meals altogether at times. It was bad enough that I was almost ready to take them into the vet. It was almost a week until they were both back to normal--all from one single use of this water additive! Terrible product, do not recommend.
I don’t like using tap water. Our area has hard water. So zi buy Spring water and use the additive fir my cats. Love it
This has helped with my dogs breath. There is a noticeable difference when I don’t add it to the water. This is helping keep her mouth bacteria under control until she is healthy enough for a dental.
