    Too Much Quinoa

By Chris on Mar 17, 2021

This dog food is unlike other canned duck I've purchased, because it contains quinoa. Quinoa acts like a whole grain, but it is actually a seed. Quinoa, a "superfood" that contains twice as much fiber as other grains. To my untrained eye, there is waaaay too much quinoa in there. As for blueberries, I find 1 (one) blueberry in every can I open. It has the consistency of clay, and is on the dry side. On the up side, all 6 of my dogs LOVE this stuff. One other plus is that it doesn't smell as bad as other canned duck dog food I've purchased. But that being said, I won't be purchasing this brand a second time.

Great product but not sure about the quinoa

By Hazel on Jul 8, 2020

This is a great, clean product with no additives or impossible to pronounce supplements and my dogs loved it mixed into their regular dry food. It says "grain free" and technically it is but it has quinoa which is a seed. Unfortunately, one of my dogs has allergies to more things on this planet than I can count and I'm guessing it is the quinoa she reacted to. She started scratching and licking her paws constantly after a couple of weeks... A sure sign that she's having a reaction. Too bad. I think this is a great product and would love to support this company.

    Dogs won't eat it

By deboneat on May 14, 2017

I was looking for an alternate protein with limited ingredients and this looked like the food. When I received this food I noticed the lot # was from Evangers. I was assured that although Evangers cans this food the ingredients are bought and stored by PetKind. So now that I was assured of the product safety I tried it on my dogs. They will not eat it. It also doesn't smell as good to me as the last food I tried. I guess we will keep looking.

    Poor Quality Meat

By hihityty on Mar 21, 2017

Do people not know about fat to protein ratio? Five minutes of research and reading and you should be educated enough not to buy this. Fat divided by protein. That decimal should be between 50-80% or the meat used for the pet food was extremely high in fat and likely of poor quality.

    Dogs love it!

    By BJ68 on Jan 30, 2017

I'm a big fan of the Petkind products. My dogs love both their canned food and kibble. It is pricier than most, but I believe it is worth the added cost. My pickiest eaters will eat this 'duck.' That was my hope...

    An ok pet food

By purplelisa on Jun 17, 2016

My dogs like it - they will eat anything, but I didn't care for the smell or texture. Seems okay other than that.

    Truly limited ingredient food!

    By Debbi57 on Apr 2, 2016

Just started my dog on this after her allergy test results came back. Hard to find a food with nothing on the list of allergens. So far this is the only canned food I have found that does. Hope they never change the ingredients!

This food's for dogs? Lucky dogs!

    By JodyG61 on Jan 20, 2016

This is amazing food. My dog loves this stuff. It's so clean and good quality we jokingly say that we humans would eat it! You'd never know that my fluffy Keeshond is a highly allergic dog was at one time seriously bald and had red, raw skin. Even his dermatologist said it was nearly a miraculous recovery and we should keep feeding him this food as it was clearly working for him.

    Excellent topper

By Wolfhound on May 11, 2015

I have a picky IW and I use this line to add flavor and variety to her kibble. She seems to like the duck and bison tripe the most, followed by lamb tripe and venison. Salmon is her least favorite and we don't do pork related to allergies. The bison is really foul smelling, but she loves it! They very in texture but all mix easily enough. All include blueberries but for some reason also list facts about Acai berries on the cans, though that is not an ingredient in any of the ones I have tried....
