I purchased this for my 4yr old cat. She eats a little too fast, and then chokes, and coughs, because food must me stuck in her throat. So I thought this would help her slow down and eat one piece at a time. Well, we tried it for a few days, and she couldn't get the food out, the zig zag groves are too high, and she gets frustrated and just walks away. So, I had to go back to just feeding her 8-10 pieces in her bowl, so she can at least get some food. But,I have to be there to keep giving her small amounts of food. There has to be a better way, or a better bowl with a little wider spaces and not as high. She's a small sized kitty only 10lbs so I thought she would be able to get her little face in their to retrieve food. So, now I'm frustrated and don't know what to do now. And, I would like a slow feeder 3-4 inches off the floor also, so she doesn't have to bend down to eat. That also has alot to do with a cats digestion, and stomach issues. Her current elevated ceramic food/water bowls are 4" high. I'm just very disappointed in this product, and now I need to keep searching for an item that will work for her.

Had to slow down the eating on my big boy Tuxed0

It works well to slow him down eating-he doesn't like it!!! Had one and added a second for the pet sitter. It gets kitty slobber on it because of how they have to

It works well to slow him down eating-he doesn't like it!!! Had one and added a second for the pet sitter. It gets kitty slobber on it because of how they have to maneuver to get the food but easily cleans with a little warm soapy water. There was a lot of slow feeders to choose from and I'm glad I choose the perfect one the first time!

I thought it would be a good solution for my fast eater, but he couldn't get to the pieces in the bottom with his paws or mouth, so he flipped the whole thing. It's a brilliant idea for the right cat, and maybe smaller paws, but he's extremely motivated.

Did the job but my kitten didn’t like it

My kitten is 3 months old and extremely food motivated so he personally did not enjoy that he couldn’t get to the food which is the whole point of the slow feeder

My kitten is 3 months old and extremely food motivated so he personally did not enjoy that he couldn’t get to the food which is the whole point of the slow feeder. He got too impatient to the point he lifted or flipped the feeder completely to get his food :/ I will have to find something that works better for him

Pretty difficult for the cats to get the food.

I bought 2, one for my big boy who inhales his food and then goes and helps himself to the girls' food. He's got the hang of it and it slows him down a lot, but the other one was for one of my girls (I have 7 girls and 1 boy) because she was eating too fast then throwing up her food a lot. Unfortunately, she either can't figure out how to get to the Food or doesn't want to, so I have to dump a few pieces at a time out for her to eat.

The slots in the dish are too small. My cat can't get the food out of the dish. The slots are too small for her to access the food, even though she is not a large cat. In addition, even small kibble gets stuck in the diagonal slots.

The ridges are too tall and it's not flexible.

I bought 2 in a different style but needed another. The ridges of the others I got were really too high for my cats to pick out the treats but I was able to use

I bought 2 in a different style but needed another. The ridges of the others I got were really too high for my cats to pick out the treats but I was able to use scissors to shorten them. I thought this was made of the same soft, silicone material, but it is a hard plastic and impossible to cut. They can't use it.

Works better than expected.

I bought these expecting not to use them until our kitten was on dry food. However, I took a chance and tried them with her wet food and they work beautifully!

I bought these expecting not to use them until our kitten was on dry food. However, I took a chance and tried them with her wet food and they work beautifully! In our kitty's case these work better than the licking mats. They slow her eating down really nicely. She had a bad habit of gulping her food down ridiculously fast and then having terrible gas. This innocent looking little dish works so very well to slow her down and help her digest her food more efficiently. I would highly recommend them.

My cat is too smart for this!

My cat is an adult and very large. And smart! She immediately figured out how to lift this dish up and drop it so that the cat food sprayed out all over the floor

My cat is an adult and very large. And smart! She immediately figured out how to lift this dish up and drop it so that the cat food sprayed out all over the floor. Ah, well...it still took her longer to eat that way.
