Are there any ingredients from China ?

Primal products are made in the United States. They source their lamb and venison from New Zealand, rabbit from France, and a few of their supplement-ingredients are sourced from Iceland, Northern Europe, and Japan. Everything else is sourced in the USA and all ingredients are USDA edible-grade.

Primal's holistic veterinary community asked that they provide a food energetics guide on their packaging. Their food energetics information is based on Chinese theory medicine. According to Chinese medicine, each food plays a role in warming or cooling the body during digestion. For those consumers who subscribe to the theory of protein temperatures, they provide an indication of hot (H), warming (W), neutral (N), and cooling (C) proteins on their packaging.

Saved from all these cans

I like that I can leave this food out for my cats so they can nibble on it when they want. Also, I'm not having to open cans and deal with all that. Nor is it dried

I like that I can leave this food out for my cats so they can nibble on it when they want. Also, I'm not having to open cans and deal with all that. Nor is it dried kibble that isn't so healthy for them. Clean up is so simple

Ownership change maybe, but quality went down.

This has been my main brand since I was introduced to it back in 2011 or 2012. Sadly when the packaging changed, so did the formula. I don't have a picky eater at all. So when the new Turkey formula arrived, and he would not eat it, I knew something had changed. The list of ingredients appears the same overall, but the new packaging shows that certain things have been moved around from what they were, which changes the composition and formula. The other thing is that Primal had amazing customer service by phone. They always answered or called back, and even wanted the batch numbers of any bag that had lesser quality or was over processed, which would happen every once in a while. This time when I called to inquire about the formula, I could not even get anyone to call me back let alone answer the phone. Sadly something has changed with Primal. Fortunately my cat is LOVING the Vital Essentials brand.

Vet-recommended food our kitties love

Our two 7-moth-old kittens are transitioning to this food from kitten food, at the recommendation of our vet. The boys are thriving as we make the switch!! One of the kittens has always been under-sized and a slow grower, but he has taken off into an amazing growth pattern since switching food. And our more typical kitten has fluffed up into the most majestic beast with his long coat turning even more luxurious. And the boys love this food, eating their serving promptly so that it's easier to do scheduled feedings and monitor their individual intake as opposed to free feeding where we don't know who ate what.

Bentley was a straight before we rescued him and most likely survived by hunting. We have had him for about nine years as an indoor/outdoor cat on a kibble diet with occasional treats of fresh salmon or We noticed he was hunting small animals when he was outside when we didn’t give him any meatand bringing them through the pet door on the screened in porch where he spends of his time. This real meat satisfies him, and he no longer brings hunted food on the porch.

Cats are fine with tiny kibble! I never will buy this product again. Cats like it though. Just not ready to do all that work.

To me seems like they changed the oil in it likes it's greasier. Kinda like going to a restaurant and you can tell they used old oil for the fries. Please change it back.
