it says on the package to keep in the fridge for freshness 3-5 days. my can't won't be able to eat the whole bag in that many days because I wanna rotate her food flavors ? can I keep it locked in a glass jar, or a plastic container ? and then how long can it stay in the fridge ?

Once it is re-hydrated it can only be stored in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. If it is not re-hydrated, you can store it in a cool, dry place. When using on a rotational diet, it is recommended to make in small batches so that you may use it as needed.
It says the main ingredients are pork hearts, bones and livers. Is there any other muscle meat in this product, like pork muscle?

The heart is actually muscle meat. It is made up of a type of striated muscle tissue called cardiac muscle. By design, Primal products contain no more than 10% organ meat. They use the heart as a primary source of muscle meat in many of their formulas because heart contains a higher nutrient value than other muscle meats and is the most environmentally responsible option.
Is the pork nitrate free?

The Pork is nitrate free. All Primal Pet Foods products are produced using the highest quality ingredients, including 100% antibiotic- and steroid-free USDA edible-grade meats, poultry, and game in addition to certified organic produce and unrefined vitamins and minerals.

My cats are too finicky!

My niece recommended this food. Her finicky cat loves it. Mine did not. Even the little pig cat who generally eats anything. Oh well. It was worth trying.

STARLA LOVES

Starla has IBD bad!! She was having a bad flair andgoes on a food strike meaning she refuses to eat what she has been eating for awhile and starts lloosing weight.. was having water diarria..everything I gave her made things worse! I had bought this awhile back and decided out of desperation to give it to her.... She loved it and within 2 days alot with probiotics she was back to solid stool .. will be sticking with this and trying other meats!!

All 9 of my cats love this food, it rehydrates relatively fast and it's great as part of their rotation of different foods in their diet.

Too dense/ hard as a rock

impossible to break apart like the other primal nuggets. Hard as a rock right out of a packaging. My one cat had it for two meals and threw up right after both meals, so Im not going to be buying these nuggets again.

One of our cats loves this

I decided to order this product (and another flavor) after trying some samples I got at a trade show. My plan is to use it as a supplement to their diet. One of our cats loves this, particularly when I break up a nugget and give it to him dry. Since his primary diet is dry food, I give him a little water with the freeze-dried pork. He laps it up before eating the pieces, so there must be something in there that's tasty and water soluble. One thing that concerns me a little is the blue color that comes out into the water when I hydrate the crumbled pellets. I assume it's from added nutrients, but have yet to find out for sure. Our other cat isn't a big fan of the pork. Perhaps she'll like the salmon.

2 cats love it

i have a cat with digestive issues. i now feed her American Journey duck limited ingredients and primal pork. unfortunately she only will eat it dry, but i think its probably keeping her teeth clean because i give it in big chunks (Not whole-maybe 8 pieces per bar) i also give vetriscience probiotic. her previous liquid diarrhea has all but disappeared. her littermate also likes dry primal pork. i give it as a treat. Cons: expensive, cats need to drink water if its given dry-mine do, hard to break up the bars with arthritic hands.

It's just so-so

My cats have never like freeze-dried food. I bought this thinking I could perhaps interest the ones who eat only Primal frozen raw pork, just to simplify my life, but they turned up their noses at it. I am feeding it in rotation to my inflammatory bowel baby now, who eats it ok with some Purina Fortiflora sprinkled over it after crushing it, putting in a couple of tablespoons of water, and mircrowaving 7 seconds, and stirring. No simple at all.

Keep trying

I've read many reviews saying these nuggets are hard or they take too long to prepare or whatever. I started using raw food for my cats in this form after they were already used to dry food. So when I tried mixing with water, it seemed the flavor may have not been the same as when the nuggets are dry. My cats love canned cat food but I only give them about 1/3 of a small can at their night feeding. their main feeding is in the morning and they each get 3 bricks that I break apart into about 6 pieces. They LOVE it! If I mix with water, they turn their nose up at it! So, I feed it to them dry and have plenty of water nearby. This has been the best for my sensitive stomach cat. He cannot eat anything with chicken and doesn't like duck but goes for the pork and the turkey flavors just fine. He isn't thrilled with the beef and salmon but will eat it eventually.
