How long would a bag last for a 12 pound cat?

Primal Pet Freeze-Dried Nuggets are packaged by weight, not by nuggets, so the number may vary however, there are close to 16 - 22 nuggets in the 5.5 ounce bag and 42 - 56 nuggets found in the 14 ounce bag. The feeding chart may be located by clicking the “Feeding Instructions” tab, on the product page.

What's rehydrated ash% and magnesium% of this product? Thank you.

Primal currently uses a combination of pathogen control measures to ensure the continued safety of all their products. In late 2022, they began treating all freeze-dried formulas with probiotics for safety. Additionally, they adhere to a rigorous Test and Hold protocol to confirm that all products test negative for harmful bacteria before being released for sale. With a science-forward approach, they will evaluate and research different safety and quality measures as they continually strive to make raw food safer. That being said, they always recommend general safe-handling practices: wash all work surfaces, utensils, hands, and food bowls with hot, soapy water after handling raw meats and poultry.

Not able to crumble, as what I achieved are hard rocks. I tried soaking in water overnight, and still rock hard. Placed in microwave for 10 seconds, I was able to cut with scissors the rubbery material. My cat will eat them but crumble then and serve, not a chance.

The recipe and quality has changed, maybe new ownership

I've been feeding Primal to my cats for more than a decade, but sadly when the packaging changed, so did the formula. I don't have a picky eater at all. So when

I've been feeding Primal to my cats for more than a decade, but sadly when the packaging changed, so did the formula. I don't have a picky eater at all. So when the new Turkey formula arrived, and he would not eat it, I knew something had changed. The list of ingredients appears the same overall, but certain things have been moved around from what they were. The other thing is that Primal had amazing customer service by phone. They always wanted the batch numbers of any bag that had lesser quality or was over processed, which would happen every once in a while. This time when I called to inquire about the formula, I could not even get anyone to call me back let alone answer the phone. Sadly something has changed, and fortunately my cat is LOVING the Vital Essentials brand.

Doesn’t look good

I started my cat on the turkey formula nuggets, and he absolutely loved it. Besides changing the packaging and some of the former packaging also had unusual color

I started my cat on the turkey formula nuggets, and he absolutely loved it. Besides changing the packaging and some of the former packaging also had unusual color to the nuggets as you can see in my photo with the two nuggets the one on the left is the normal color and the right one has an orange color. My cat is refusing to eat any of them that contains that in the bag. I bought several bags and the one by itself you can see something on it like yellow or orange. It doesn’t even blend in and my cat is refusing to eat it. I’m getting ready to email the company and see if they respond. If not, I’m going to have to report it.

ALL of my cats gobble it up.

I can't believe one food item is actually enjoyed by all my fur babies. That never happens. A little hard to break up. A smaller version would be good.

Not the same food or quality

We have fed our cats a rotation of Primal with a couple of raw, slightly cooked foods and Stella and Chewy. Our cats loved the Turkey and really the ingredients

We have fed our cats a rotation of Primal with a couple of raw, slightly cooked foods and Stella and Chewy. Our cats loved the Turkey and really the ingredients are stellar. However......the nuggets have come to us stale, much lighter in color with a fuzzy texture on the nuggets. The cat's seem less enthused as well. I've written to Chewy asking what is going on and I've reached out to Primal directly to find out, all to no avail. We are forced to stop Primal which we recommend to patients, clients, friends and family, for a while, until they figure out something is indeed not right. I've not let our vet know yet as she has it on her recommended food list and I don't want to do that to Primal until and if something is done. I've even called them asking for an actual human call back.....nope, never happened. Gone are the days of human contact it seems.

INCONSISTENT FORMULA'S

Something was definitely off with my last purchase of these nuggets. When I opened the bag I could tell they smelled weird. Even my "street" kitty wouldn't touch

Something was definitely off with my last purchase of these nuggets. When I opened the bag I could tell they smelled weird. Even my "street" kitty wouldn't touch them. I think I'm going to stop buying Primal because they don't seem to have any quality controls in place. This isn't the first time I've purchased from them and my cats wouldn't eat it. It's happened with other flavors too.

My cat used to love these turkey blocks and they have been eating them every day for several years. The formula changed recently and everything was still fine until we received a shipment in which every single bag was stale and rancid. I don’t know if the rancidity was due to the new formula, but after years of consistent quality I’m pretty disappointed.
