Is it as effective, or near as effective, to break the packet in half and sprinkle it on food twice daily? My cat likes it so much, he would eat more if I spread it over two rather than one meal.

One sachet contains 500 million live microorganisms, and it's important to give them the entire packet at once so that the highest possible number of good bacteria reach your pet's lower intestine intact. A higher population will provide more beneficial effects to their digestion and health.

Just like any probiotic, FortiFlora for cats can take some time to start working. While minor improvements might be observed during the first few days, you’ll really start to see the full effects of FortiFlora after your cat has been on it for a week or two.
Weill this product do anything to help with a furball issue?

Probiotics and enzymes help maintain a healthy digestive system and helps to prevent any potential diseases of the digestive track. They will also help your cat pass any undigested food that tends to attach to hair sitting in the digestive track, thus helping him pass hair before it becomes a hairball.
Can this be used as a bribe to get cats to eat raw food?

This supplement is not meant to entice your cat to eat a certain food. It is intended to be a digestive aid, supplying the healthy microorganisms needed for good digestion.

This worked for helping elderly cat eat more

I bought this for our 16 year old cat who was showing some unwillingness to eat. This is a powder that we put on her dry and wet foods. For her this seemed to work better than the combination of anti-nausea and appetite stimulant. I would recommend to anyone who needs to help their little one gain weight and eat. I did notice her bowel movements smelled different since she began FortiFlora, I assume because of the probiotic nature of the product.

Good for nervous new kittens

Just adopted some new kittens, and one's stomach wasn't handling the move so well and kept having accidents due to it. Mixed this into her morning food and she started having regular movements within 2 days, kept her on it for a week before stopping and she now has no issues. Also be careful leaving the packs out in the open if your cats wind up loving this stuff, i woke up to one chewed up around the edges because they were trying to get into the powder inside!

Good stuff!

Very useful in supplementing your cat's diet. We have 3, two seniors, one younger. They were having diarrhea before using this. Other products were not getting them back to normal but they are doing well now. It has been an ongoing problem. Under control now.

Disappointed

We adopted Leo from our local animal control. He was having frequent Diarrhea. Our Veterinarian recommended Purina One for his diet and it did improve, but he would still have episodes of Diarrhea. I was encouraged by the reviews for this product, but it did not help. He did like the flavor and cleaned up his food dish though.

Helps, but hard to get them to eat it

I think this product is effective. My cats just don’t like the taste so I have to put it in a lickable treat, not their regular wet food. Also, it makes the treat/food really thick, really quickly.

WAAAAAY too much box for this teeny little item

I received the FortiFlora Powder pretty quickly. I have to say that I was blown away by the packaging. It was in something like a 15"x15"x5" cardboard box, with inserts inside to keep the CARDBOARD box with sealed envelopes in it safe. I think they could have used a MUCH smaller box to send that product, and I hope they will in the future. I love the company and I love the service, but they need to rethink their packaging to make it more suitable to what they're shipping.

GREAT PRODUCT - FORTIFLORA

FortiFlora is the BEST. It allowed me to keep my 20-year-old cat much longer than I would have. Basically, what FortiFlora does is keep the digestive tract in balance so that the cat will have solid poop instead of diarrhea. It really saved me on litterbox duty. In addition, it supports a healthy immune system. It was literally a life saver for my cat.

Just what the doctor ordered

I took my rescue kitty to the vet since she had blood in her stool. The vet did blood work and a fecal exam and found nothing. The vet suggested FortiFloria to restablish the gut population. It's been 25 days and there has been no further evidence of blood. I'm a happy camper and just ordered another box.

Better products out there

Recommended by vet to supplement after course of antibiotics. After researching, I found other brands had higher count, more beneficial strains and were less costly alternatives to this brand

Didn't Help

I purchased Fortiflora at the recommendation of the vet who performed abdominal ultrasound of our cat. Our cat has had diarrhea for four weeks and has been on Fortiflora for 17 days with no improvement.
