Royal Canin Hairball Care Dry Cat Food supports your cat's digestion to help reduce hairball formation. The targeted nutrition of this cat kibble is designed for cats in need of a little extra help with hairball management. Its exclusive blend of dietary fibers helps naturally stimulate the intestinal tract to pass the hair they swallow. That way, the hair can pass into your cat’s litter box. Try mixing this dry food with your cat’s favorite wet food for a meal your cat will love.
This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.
Transition Instructions
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.

What "Flavor" is this? My 2 Maine Coon's have recently gotten picky about eating Science Diet Hairball Control and try to steal my 11 year old's Selected Protein Rabbit & Pea that she eats for food allergy. Want to ensure kitties will like this!
Answer by • Oct 21, 2018
This food is chicken flavored.
kibble size
Answer by • Nov 30, 2022
While Royal Canin does not have the exact measurements, the size of the kibble of their Hairball Care Dry Cat Food is smaller than an M&M.

I have a very thick coat and have had hairballs my entire life despite being a DSH. This particular cat food made it so I pass my hairs another way rather than throwing up on mom & dad's chairs, comforters and sofas. You have made all our lives easier! Mom said she loves the added bonus of food being delivered to the door! Thank you.

This REALLY works!
I've tried so many different brands claiming the end or reduction of hairballs and nothing has made a difference. Pixie is part Maine Coon, and long hair mix. Long, fine hair + constant grooming = loads of hairballs (which are HUGE, more like big fat cigars) all year round. They almost look like poop! All over!
I figured we'd try this brand/formula as a last hurrah; and I'm stunned! Switched about 4/5 months ago, and the difference was IMMEDIATE! She went from multiple times a day to a few a week, then to a couple or so a month, to now, which is 0! For about the last 2 months! Grooming habits haven't changed, just no more disgusting surprises between my toes!! Added bonus, she LOVES the taste. I was originally going to mix it 50-50 with her other food, and she picked through and only ate this!
Yes, it's more expensive, but I'm not picking up a minefield every day!

Fast service
I love the fast service service and variety of products. I was disappointed to find Purina Yesterdays News cat litter discontinued after using for 20 years. I loved the fact it did not give off any dust, not Chewy fault, so any recommendations ? Other then that I find what I need. Jerry

upset stomachs
My cats liked the food but it must not agree with their systems. They are vomiting a few times a week, only food. I’ll go back to the regular royal canin. I did transition slowly so maybe there is an ingredient they are sensitive to.

I Definitely Helps
I have an older 12--15ish cat who was throwing up regularly. Started feeding this and now its intermittent. I think it is helpful and who wouldn't say, "yes" to less of that!

Favorite food with extra benefits
I have 5 cats in our household. They all know where to go to get their favorite food. All of them shed, several pretty extensively. With the hairball prevention additives this food can help minimize the hairball vomiting.
