Royal Canin Hairball Care Dry Cat Food

Royal Canin Hairball Care Dry Cat Food is designed to meet the specific nutritional needs of indoor cats prone to hairballs. Cats spend a large portion of their day grooming, which can lead to the ingestion of large quantities of hair. The swallowed hair becomes compacted in the digestive tract, forming hairballs, which are either regurgitated or eliminated through the stool. This precisely balanced nutritional recipe is specially formulated to help naturally reduce hairball formation. Royal Canin supports the health of your feline friend by providing tailor-made nutrition based on a true understanding of a cat’s specific needs and over 45 years of science and observation.
Key Benefits- Specially formulated to help naturally reduce hairball formation in adult cats, including neutered cats.
- Tailor-made recipe delivers a complete and balanced diet that meets all the nutritional needs of your feline friend.

- This unique fiber blend is rich in mucilage and encourages the daily elimination of ingested hair to prevent build-up, which results in hairballs.

This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
How are Royal Canin diets preserved?
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
Where do the ingredients in Royal Canin diets come from?
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Why do some Royal Canin diets contain by-products?

How do you ensure Royal Canin diets are safe for my pet?
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way.* We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase.* We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food.* We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers.* We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.

Product works
By PussyGalore on Jan 22, 2021
The kibble is much smaller than Science Diet. Both of my babies enjoy this food. My largest cat, still had an episode. For my 2 year old Scottish Straight this is a plus. He has a beautiful full body of hair. Baby Straight has less hair and I have not seen him with hair ball, yet. I recommend. I wish it came in a smaller bag. My kitties like variety. They also enjoy Science Diet Sensitive stomach & skin. I recommend this one too.

Quality dry food
By 3catloves on Jan 28, 2021
My 3 cats love their dry ragdoll formula. But despite their diet and regular grooming, two of them suffer with hairballs. This lessened when I supplement with the canned wet food remedy. I decided to add this to the mix. They are eating it up!

good for hairballs
By myHSplace on Oct 29, 2020 Top 500 Contributor
As a hairball control food, it works awesome, way better than hairball treats and hills diet. my mix maine coon went from regularly having hairballs 1-2 times a day to none within like 2 weeks max.. as a quality food, well it is not my first choice, too high in carbs for cats but, it works and once it does one can always transition to mixing it up to half and half with a better quality food like dr. elsey 5% carb kibbles to lessen the carb damage, what we are doing now and so far so good.. Also kibble size are good for senior cats too so we’ve decided to stick to this adult (up tp 7yrs old) royal canin food for our senior cat because the senior indoor version does NOT work like this formula does As a hairball control food, it works awesome, way better than hairball treats and hills diet. my mix maine coon went from regularly having hairballs 1-2 times a day to none within like 2 weeks max.. as a quality food, well it is not my first choice, too high in carbs for cats but, it works and once it does one can always transition to mixing it up to half and half with a better quality food like dr. elsey 5% carb kibbles to lessen the carb damage, what we are doing now and so far so good.. Great Value, Cats Love it!!!
By SallyG on Dec 21, 2020
My cats are super picky and love this food. They are indoor and tend to over-groom each other. This helps with fur balls and they can’t wait to eat it at mealtimes.

No Hairballs!
By Debbie on Sep 11, 2020
My cats would cough up hairballs occasionally even though I brush them constantly. They do not like the tube of hairball medicine. This cat food is what they needed. They must like the taste because they eat it. I have not seen any hairball cough-up anywhere nor have they made that coughing sound when they have a hairball. One of my cats is long-hair and others are short-hair. This food works on all cats. They have been eating this food for about 3 weeks. You see results after they have been eating this food 5 to 7 days.

Since my cat (who gets hairballs sometimes), hasn't had any hairballs in the 2 weeks he has been eating it. It is basically a treat, but he will eat it.
