Concerned about Your Dog’s Kidney Health?

The healthy functioning of your dog’s kidneys is essential to them living a healthy life. Their kidneys serve as a filtering system that helps remove toxins and waste from blood. You should always work with your veterinarian to monitor your dog’s kidney health.

Support Your Dog’s Quality of Life Through Kidney Health Challenges

Feed a Specific Renal Diet

Your veterinarian can recommend the right diet to support your dog’s kidney function.

How Nutrition Can Help

Your veterinarian may recommend a formula that includes:

EPA + DHA

Featuring EPA + DHA long-chain omega-3 fatty acids to help support renal function.

Antioxidant Complex

Enriched with a blend of antioxidants to promote tissue and cellular health.

Kidney Support

Formulated with low phosphorus and high-quality restricted protein to support renal function, helping to improve quality of life.

Adapted Energy

Add Variety and Remember to Set Autoship

Questions & Answers

11 Customer Questions

Still trying to determine the actual differences between the A,F,S Renal Support dry foods. What are the flavors of each? Aromatic, flavorful, and savory mean nothing to me.

Answer by ChewyDec 07, 2018
Dogs with renal issues generally need more options for palatability, focusing on scent and textures. Renal Support A is an aromatic, rectangular kibble. Renal Support F is a flavorful, round kibble. Renal Support S is a savory crescent-shaped kibble. Renal Support D is delectable morsels in gravy. Renal Support E is an enticing loaf. Renal Support T is tasty pate.

how big is the kibble for the kidney F? i have a small yorkie, no teeth, she can eat kibble but it can't be too hard, or large.

Answer by ChewyOct 11, 2019
The kibble in this recipe is typically around 1 centimeter in diameter.

Does this food have an appetite stimulant?

Answer by ChewyFeb 16, 2022
The appetite stimulant is simply making the food very palatable and odorous. There are no medications in the food to stimulate the appetite.

Can this dry food be served wet ?

Answer by ChewyApr 21, 2019
Water can be added to soften the kibble.

I seriously am impressed with this dog food. My dog had only “months to live” because he was having renal failure. He also has CHF which makes the 2 issues hard to treat without affecting each other. Therefore, the only option for my dog was to control the renal failure with diet. I was given a list of renal food options and decided on this one. After 3 months, his kidney levels went back to normal and he’s been doing great over a year later. Anyway, incredibly grateful for each day with him and this food!

Kidney diet, flavorful

Ok so our bulldog is a picky eater and I’ve been trying to find a new food she would like. The kibble shape matters from what I observed. This kibble is flatter and it makes it easier for her to swallow since she doesn’t really chew like she should. She seems to love the flavor since it’s been 2 weeks and she will still eat it. This is our first time starting a kidney diet so I’m glad I didn’t have to order for a different kind yet.

My dog is a reluctant eater with no teeth. She still ate dry dog food mixed with wet. When I had to change to a renal dog food, I just used the wet food. It took her forever to eat. I just got the dry food 2 days ago. WOW. She runs in circles in the kitchen at mealtime now. I had the open bag in the kitchen when I first got it and after dinner, she jumped in the box for more food. Lucy is a 7 pound 13-year-old yorkie.

Apparently a very delectable prescription food

Parker took to the dietary change without hesitation, after being on Royal Canin S/O for about 14 years, the change came due to the vet starting to see some deterioration

Lasting love?

After two bags, Bella was no longer interested in it at all. That may be due to her condition so I'll try the "S" variety.

Dog actually eats this stuff

Granted I add stuff to the kibble, like salt-free broths, etc., to moisten it since dogs with kidney dysfunction need hydrated food. Dog seems to prefer this formulation

Best of the worst

Dog is on a special diet for his kidneys and he half way eats the Royal Canin. I have yet to fine one of these prescription foods that he will eat like regular dog
