What is the differences between the Royal Canin Veterinary Renal Support diets
Answer by ChewyJan 26, 2018
The differences between the Royal Canin Renal diets is the texture and flavors. A is Aromatic, F is Flavorful, S is Savory, D is Delectable, T is Tasty and E is Enticing.

The can of T from vet is a loaf type. Can D is morsels in gravy. What is can E? It would help to add pics of food on website.
Answer by ChewyAug 13, 2020
The Renal Diet dry food A is chicken and rice, F is chicken and pork, and S is chicken, pork, and fish. The Renal Diet canned food D is pork and chicken in morsels in gravy, the T is pork, chicken, and salmon in morsels and gravy, and the E is pork and chicken loaf in gel.

The ingredients list by-products, which in my mind are the leftovers of the protein products. I've never allowed by-products in any of my fur baby diets. Please explain what are in the by-products and how are they viewed as healthy
Answer by ChewyMay 10, 2018
By-products are the ground, clean parts of the animal, which include internal organs, bones/cartilage and other parts. Royal Canin uses high-quality by-products, like hearts, livers, and lungs. When by-products are processed correctly they provide excellent protein, vitamins and minerals for your pets.

Do you have renal support canned food that doesn’t have corn in it? Corn makes my dog itch.
Answer by ChewyAug 25, 2018
All of Royal Canin's Renal Support canned food recipes contain corn.

Royal Canin works

i rescued a 13 year old shelter pomeranian who after testing has stage 2 kidney disease. i am thrilled and surprised that she eat Royal Canin Kidney support so voraciously. In the past prescription diets never seemed appetizing to dogs ( i had another pet years ago who needed the same). THey might hae changed their formula but she loves it and i add royal canin kibble and a very small amount of topper of 99%fat free turkey. i am very happy. now i wish after all these years i would get one single coupon from chewy. i have never ever gotten a coupon LOL

Healthy Diet

Veternarian recommended Renal diet for beginning stage kidney failure. I tried the D flavor any my Sheltie loves the E flavor much better. I also feed him the A flavor dry food. His last bloodwork was much better with his new medicine and the Royal Canin diet. No more protein in his urine and his high blood level had dropped considerably. His Doctor was very happy with the results, and my Sheltie will livevmuch longer on this new treatment plan. He still is remains in Stage II kidney failure, but his bun and creantine levels dropped a little bit, instead of getting worse. I highly recommend this new food, as it really works!

Annie Loves It!!

We tried RC Renal Support D and RC Renal Support Early Start with Annie, our border collie. At first she tolerated RC Renal Support D for a couple of cans then turned her nose up at it. It has a lot of gravy and she's used to kibble and not sure how to eat the gravy. So, we switched to RC Renal Support Early Start since it came in half cans and is a loaf. She liked it for about a week and then turned her nose up at it as well. So, we tried Hills K/D chicken with vegetables which she ate 1 can and was finished with it. She is now eating RC Renal Support E which is a loaf but I have to mix a little home made ground beef, rice, pumpkin, apple and green beans with it to get her to eat it. She likes the flavor of beef so at least she's eating it. It's not easy always getting her to eat this bland food but so far RC Renal Support E is the winner.

Give it a try!

If your precious pet needs support food for their kidney problem, this is the brand to buy. My little girl is a fussy eater but has taken to this food, gradually of course, much better than I anticipated. Our vet was pleased, she said dogs are usually more difficult to transfer to another flavor. It's more expensive than the other foods but worth it if it helps with the ailment of your pet.

Helps older GSD

My 14-yr.-old german shepherd is in kidney failure. This food has seemed to help and to slow down its progress. Plus she loves it!

One of the better kidney foods

We'd tried two other kidney diet foods by this time. This one is not as tasty as Royal Canin D but Jaffa will eat it, although I have to add a touch of normal dog food and beef stock for him to eat it, whereas with D he'll just eat it.

She warmed up to it

It took a long time for our dog to eat this without coaxing but we are finally there. Try as they might, I always end up with some cans that get dented in shipping but so far they seem to still be usable.
