About Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Health For Cats

Worried About Your Cat’s Digestion?

Your cat’s gastrointestinal (GI) system helps support the rest of the body by properly digesting food and making sure to extract the nutrients needed for overall health. Your veterinarian is the expert on your cat, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best gastrointestinal health solutions and management options for your pet.

Know Your Cat’s GI System

  1. Mouth: where ingestion of hair and formation of hairballs can occur, due to frequent grooming.
  2. Stomach: the first part of the GI tract, where inflamation may lead to vomitting.
  3. Small Intestine and Pancreas: where the small intestine is responsible for absorption of nutrients within the diet and the pancreas aids in digestion.
  4. Large Colon (Tranverse): which is responsible for forming stool.
  5. Large Colon (Descending): which is responsible for forming stool; any alteration to this process may lead to constipation or diarrhea.
  6. Rectum: where stool leaves the body

How Nutrition Can Help

Balanced for good digestion, with a blend of fibers and prebiotics to support digestive health

Highly palatable to encourage eating, even when appetite is decreased due to gastrointestinal upset

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

She likes it

My cat's cholesterol and weight was up at her last exam. The vet suggested going to Royal Canin Moderate Calorie Gastrointestinal food. She is super picky and I was afraid she would have a hard time adjusting since both the color and shape are different from her old food. She scarfed it up like it was a special treat. She likes it. As always, Chewy customer service and delivery is excellent.

Cats will eat this

One of my cats has intestinal issues so all 4 need to eat special food. They actually eat this and it is helping the problem - I even ordered a second bag.

Great food

My cat was a kitten when we got her and she was very sick. This food changed her life. HOWEVER, the food was back ordered everywhere US wide. I had to ween our cat to a different brand. Thankfully she is good but we can't keep switching her back and forth hoping this won't happen again.

More expensive

This bag is one pound less than the bag I buy from the vet and the same price. Check your sizes this is a rip off

My cats love it!

My ten year old male cat was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis this spring and my vet suggested that I put him on a low fat diet. Buzz has always preferred to eat dry food, so she recommended this prescription diet from Royal Canin. As soon as my Chewy package arrived, I opened the bag and put some in a dish and Buzz started gobbling it down. I had spent weeks trying to coax this cat to eat. I also have two 14 year old female cats who decided to taste it too. All three cats of my cats loved this food. Buzz had been so sick and hadn't been eating much food at all, but his appetite has returned and his health has improved with this diet. He loves this food and it is all that he eats now.

RC moderate calorie dry Food feline

Have used RC for many years and have no complaints..my current cat loves food, so I'm sure he would eat anything! But he (like every cat I've had) has GI issues so had been using the GI RC food since a kitty. Recently changed from the high fiber to moderate calorie dry..NO issues! And the best news..poo is almost normal!!!

Works Great!

Our one kitty with IBS had vomiting issues and occasional bloody soft stools. The vomiting has stopped and stools, although not perfect, are significantly better. Best part is that the cat really likes eating it and even our other cats want this food now! Just wish it came in a bigger bag.
