About Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Health For Dogs

Royal Canin, incredible in every detail. Tailored nutritional solutions for gastrointestinal health.
Acute or chronic? If your Veterinarian thinks your pet has a gastrointestinal issue, they may classify it as acute or chronic. Acute conditions appear suddenly and deteriorate rapidly. Chronic conditions develop over time and may worsen gradually.

Worried About Your Dog’s Digestion?

Your dog’s gastrointestinal (GI) system helps support the rest of the body by properly digesting food and making sure to extract the nutrients needed for overall health. Your veterinarian is the expert on your dog, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best gastrointestinal health solutions and management options for your pet.

Know Your Dog’s GI System

  1. Stomach: the first part of the GI tract, where inflamation may lead to vomitting.
  2. Small Intestine and Pancreas: where the small intestine is responsible for absorption of nutrients within the diet and the pancreas aids in digestion; inflamation of the pancreas may be cause by a high fat diet or treats.
  3. Large Colon (Tranverse): which is responsible for forming stool.
  4. Large Colon (Descending): which is responsible for forming stool; any alteration to this process may lead to constipation or diarrhea.
  5. Rectum: where stool leaves the body

How Nutrition Can Help

Your veterinarian may recommend a Royal Canin GI formula that is

Easily digestible to help reduce the load on the gastrointestinal tract

Formulated with omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, and DHA to aid digestive health and antioxidants to support a healthy immune system

Highly palatable to encourage eating, even when appetite is decreased due to gastrointestinal upset

Balanced for good digestion, with a blend of fibers and prebiotics to support digestive health

Find The Perfect Balance

With a dry and wet feeding routine, dry food supports positive oral health while wet food supports healthy hydration.

Unfortunately, these made my girl develop diarrhea. Even though she is on the Royal Canin gastro rx food both dry and canned, but or some reason, these upset her stomach. So I ended up donating the bags (I had bought 2) She did like them, they are fairly hard, but you can break them with a little effort and give half or quarters. What I do love about these rx treats is the value seems to be really good, because the bag is fairly large. I wish she could have them, as she is very sensitive and I wanted to find her a safe treat. I am attaching photos of the treat size to help others as no one had really posted about them.

My little Min Pin has gastrointestinal issues and can only eat certain foods. We stick with Royal Canine. So we got these treats for the first time and she absolutely loves them!! Wants those instead of her regular other treats. So, we are switching to these. And it does not bother her stomach thankfully!!! Excellent purchase! Am buying them again today. Definitely recommend for dogs with gastro problems.

I have a very picky 3 year old cocker and she recently had a pancreatic flare up. I had to start from scratch finding food and treats that she would actually eat... I found it! She is permitted 11 a day, ao every day I put 11 treats in a jelly jar and when they are gone, its back to cheerios for her. She loves these and I am thrilled that these are actually part of her restricted diet.

Abby seems to love these. Not all the time. But they part of her prescription diet, so I continue to purchase them. They don’t taste that bad and she will eat them. And she is somewhat of a picky dog, depending on the day, depending on the way the moon is looking at the Earth, who knows. But I do go through a lot of of these bags and I will continue to purchase.

Unfortunately my 2 yr old Cavalier has many problems with dog food and/or human food resulting in severe diarrhea. As a puppy she ate Royal Canin exclusively, however once I incorporated other brands of food she has had numerous stomach problems. She loves treats, which I have had 2 eliminate from her diet. Thankfully she has been able to enjoy treats again now that I am exclusively giving her these. She runs to the bag, tail wagging, & gives me big kisses as she is now able to enjoy treats again. I would highly recommend if your dog is suffering with stomach problems as I am so happy “my baby” can Smile again as she gobbles them up

My Yorkie Terrier is an old dog and been dealing with gastrointestinal flare ups. My vet recommended Royal Canin. This has changed my worries on what’s the best treat for his condition. Also the treat bits are easy for him to chew up. They’re not super hard and hurt his mouth. Thank you Royal Canin and thank you Chewy!

It was delivered promptly & quicker than I expected. I didn’t have to drive to a store & lift a heavy bag into my car. All I had to do is drag it from my porch
