Sentry worked nice despite the price; better than the other line I tried

I have several rescues of varying ages, two veterans, and three new, one almost a year old. The Older cats did not like the invasion, the new rescues were afraid of everyone/thing (cats/people other than me) it was a precarious detente, much tension, marking, and when the kitten came all heck broke loose. I tried a few suggestions; the calming spray alone had no effect. I tried the feliway diffusers and they leaked and got hot and not only did they not help, the fastidious cat who 'warned away' the old guard got more vocal and started swiping at anything who approached, even swatted at her fellow familiar rescue with whom he formerly got along. He pretty much stuck to himself, & wiped the walls, when I used that diffuser he even sprayed (first time) and got more anxious/vocal. The other sweet fraidy cat who just hid from everyone until she came for lovey kisses and cuddles & pets actually became aggressive toward the other cats (maybe a coincidence, just had enough?) but still afraid and stopped coming to us for love as much. FORTUNATELY I bought the Sentry diffuser and although there is still some in-fighting, things have calmed back down to the initial unrest. Also it was supposed to last a month; it lasts about 3 weeks. But at least it doesn't leak or stink or get hot and I think it's doing something... SO I can't give this 5 stars, but I think it helped some; definitely better than that other brand for us! I was disappointed I couldn't get the replacements for this Sentry currently at Chewy, hoping to give it another go & see if it really makes a difference; hopefully they'll bring it back, maybe in multi-packs? Chewy's so much affordable than (other famous pet places) & their service is fast riendly and professional. CHEWY.COM has been GREAT support, and cared when I told them about the other brand leaking (& a bit of burning scent). They really care & try to recommend the product you need and help you deal with problems. They're super fast on shipping & their prices are so reasonable. I just hope they get this item back, or the other (3rd brand I'm having to try since they don't have this) works.

excellent product!!

I brought this product about a week or two ago to see if it would help make the moving transition easier on my 13 year old cat. I have the sentry calming spray and that seemed to work so I figured why not. I can tell you that I’m very very impressed with this product and it definitely seemed to lessen the stress on my boy A LOT. Please do keep in mind some cats may need up to a month to start showing signs of the spray working. I’m very thankful for this diffuser and will definitely be ordering another one when we move again. Thank you so much Chewy for the amazing deal and Sentry for the amazing product!

Don’t waste money on it.

This does absolutely nothing for any of my cats, so I was disappointed after the vet had to oversell it for the manufacturer when it was noneffective as could be.

Terrific product

My cat had a lot of changes in his life including a move and introduction of new kitty siblings. He stopped grooming himself and developed a bad temper. Veterinary exam and blood work ruled out a medical condition. This product was recommended by his veterinarian. His condition improved quickly and he is a new kitty. Thank you so much.

Works great and smells nice

I have used both brands of diffusers and prefer this one over the other. Diffuser is easier to use and formula has lavender in it so it smells nice as well.

Calming cat

This product is wonderful. I have a 17yr old cat who can become anxious at times, this calms her down. I would recommend this to anyone who has an animal.

It didn't work for excessive meowing

I have 2 cats, both males and neutered. One of them is very vocal, he likes meowing at the middle of the night. He meows just to call our attention, he doesn't want food, water, or being pet. He just wants to wake us up. I read this could be a great way to stop this behavior, but it didn't work. He only likes sleeping close to it, but he will meow like nothing is there.

Make kitty comfy

We adopted a new kitty from a shelter. He was scared, but I had put the diffuser in 2 areas of our house. He settled in quite easily. Am very happy with Calming Diffuser. I will use it whenever kitty is upset (by noises, people, car rides to vet, etc.). Very happy with this product.
