I struggled so hard to get this around my cats small neck making sure it was tight enough but loose enough (the collar you push through the buckle doesn't slide easily at all). While doing so I rubbed most, if not all, of the powder off. Does this render the collar ineffective?

The powder that flakes off the collar when it is being stretched and applied is a normal occurrence and is how the collar operates. The pheromones are impregnated into the collar itself for a sustained release and the collar will still work for your pet and will not make the collar less effective.

Are you supposed to remove the powder from the collar when you first open it?

This collar has no specific handling instructions and does not need to be wiped off.

I put this on my kitten. He tried biting it to take it off, is the powered toxic to the kitten if ingested?

The powder isn't harmful to animals.

How to do secure the collar? The bucket doesn’t clip or anything.

The open end of the collar slides through the opposite end and through the clasp. The friction between the collar ends will keep it from sliding freely.

When I took Sherman in, he was used to going outside... I wanted him to stay in for his own safety...He cried LOUDLY and constantly day and night...After 10 days of wearing the collar, he completely lost interest in going out...I tried it on Molly because she was deathly afraid of the other cats...Now she is cautious and aware but has no fear...Next I'm going to put one on Ms. Marble...She's aggressive...These collars really work miracles...You have to give them some time, but they will work...AND the price at Chewy is Great...Got the 3 pack and I saved...

Perfumed but odd reactions

I placed this on my spotted tabby right out of the package. Don't do that. Let air out for a day; too strong. It made him a sparkless zombie. No soul in his eyes

I placed this on my spotted tabby right out of the package. Don't do that. Let air out for a day; too strong. It made him a sparkless zombie. No soul in his eyes. That was weird. My housekeeper took it off him bc he got out caught in his mouth the next day. I returned a week later. Placed it on my anxious white cat, bothered by the others. She seemed no different. But after getting the treats and outdoor time she wanted, she seems really zen.

Two months after that visit, I took her back to figure out why she's gained so much weight (2lbs in 2 months) recently. After ultrasounds and bloodwork, my vet and I have come to the conclusion that she gained her "happy" weight. I just wish I knew about it sooner!!

HORRIBLE SMELL - not safe for asthmatic cats

I’ve tried literally everything for my one stressed cat, and bought these collars as per a vets recommendation. However, the lavender smell is horrific. It overpowered my apartment and only lasted on my cat for about 20 minutes before I couldn’t take it any more. My asthmatic cat had a sneezing fit from being in the same room as the collar and not even having it on him in the 20 minutes.

Seems to be helping our “Godzilla!!”

I would say this Sentry collar is definitely helping to calm our troublesome cat Gracie aka Godzilla! Gracie really just wants to be the only cat in our house, the alpha female. We rescued another cat five years ago, who is very timid and sweet. We have tried everything to get Gracie to stop with the jealousy and aggression towards Lizzie. Anytime Lizzie is in close proximity to me, you would hear Gracie his and growl. Now, I wouldn’t say it’s 100% better but maybe 70-75%% better, which is definitely better than what it was without the collar!!! I found out about the collar on Instagram @bethostern which is a wonderful rescue and where we got sweet Lizzie. I hope it works for your kitty!!!

Calming collar may work

The cats hate wearing collars because they are inside cats. The "Bully" seems a bit better, but I still hear occasional fights. The very anxious cat seems more calm

It’s like a magic wand has been waved over my cats. They are all so much calmer and tolerant of each other. The peeing outside the litter box has stopped. I’ve literally had them on their necks for four days and I noticed the difference on day one. I swear I think it sounds made up, but it’s not! They totally work! I can only assume that with more time, it will work even better as their experiences with each other aren’t filled with growls and hisses. I’m shook!
