Calming Collars use patented Good Behavior pheromone technology. Using a pheromone that mimics the one mother cats produce to calm their kittens, the collars are clinically proven to reduce or eliminate stress-related behavior such as inappropriate marking, destructive behavior, clawing and anti-social behavior. Collars help alleviate problem behaviors triggered by travel, thunderstorms, fireworks and new social situations.
This collar continues to release calming pheromones to your cat for 30 days. It can be used for cats of all ages and breeds without long-term side effects. Fits neck up to 15 inches.

Pheromone
Adjust collar to fit around cat's neck by leaving approximately 1/4" space between pet's neck and collar. Cut off excess portion of collar, leaving 1-2 inches for extra adjustment. For growing kittens, regularly adjust the fit of the collar to make sure it's not too tight. For all cats, monitor daily to ensure proper fit. Using good hygiene practice, wash hands with soap and water after placing collar on cat.
To select the most accurate size calming collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck for comfort.

I have bought several of these collars. I liked it so I bought another one and everytime I had the same concerns everyone else has. My cat is very anxious so I wanted to see if it would help. Within a few minutes she stopped running around and was calm. It was unbelievable! She eventually slipped out of the collar and would cringe when I tried to slide it back on over her head. Then it got torn. So I bought another one, since that very first one the powder residue has increased. It is next to impossible to put it on the cat with the tight clasp. After all the anxiety it caused me - the collar broke within a few minutes. So I taped it so she would wear it. Fell off. The first one I bought was 9.99 and they have since doubled in price and really are harder to fit the cat. I've been wanting to get a new one but it’s so much of a bother for the price.
Still on the hunt to find something that works. We have tried so many defusers, sprays, treats and collars and none seem to do what they claim. This collar is adjustable which is great, but the powder gets all over and my cats still manage to some how lick the collar then it gets stuck between their jaws no matter how tight (just like the breakaway collar I bought here) and then they chew it until it’s off. My other cats just meow non stop still even while wearing it
I think these work alright. All cats are a bit more snuggly and the fearful cat is sleeping out in the open, almost as soon as I put the collar on. They are lightly fragranced but not terribly and I don’t think that cats have great sniffers (like dogs at least) anyway. I ended up modifying these as the not used to collars cats itched at them a lot and loosened them. One cat’s stayed as pristine as when I put it on, because she didn’t mess with it. I bought breakaway collars and cut the calming collars in half - one collar made two breakaway collars. I used tiny zip ties to secure the calming collars to the breakaway collars and used a lighter to melt the calming collar edges and zip tie cut ends. This is much better, much less messing with the collars and tightening them every day. They do seem very safe because they loosen with just a little pressure, like a cat scratching their necks. If your cat is used to wearing collars you won’t have any issues but if not just a bit of arts and crafts and you can even double the number of collars you end up with.
I have used these collars with my cats any time I have had to move, and any time I had to introduce them to roommates' cats. Once we integrated my 4 with a roommate's 3 very smoothly using these collars! No, they do not make cats sick or sedate them. They help combat stress and anxiety in the cat, so the cat can act like their normal self. They are not going to help much on a cat that hates collars or is stressed by collars! And they are not going to calm down your hyper kitten (most kittens are hyper and need lots of attention or a companion :) ), they will help with anxiety and stress in a cat that tolerates collars! One of my girls used to have to take anxiety medication during big changes. With these collars she doesnt need the pills, she acclimates quickly, plays with the others and acts confidently. Its pretty amazing!
I got this for my cat and I can tell it works just once I put it on I think the scent of it was bugging his eyes so I took it off and is just leaving it by a fan so the scent can go around. It did keep him calm and quiet.
My cat has chronic anxiety. He doesn't like the smell of the collar at first, but once he adjusted, he was a lot less jumpy and a lot more friendly. I buy these regularly. The collar doesn't clasp too tightly however and my cat can easily tug it off.
For better or for worse my cat seems to have fear aggression. She has no fight or flight. If she feels threatened in any way she lashes out. Which is normally fine unless its not. This seems to help her take the edge off when a stressor is present which normally causes aggressive behaviors. She still gets sassy, but she calms down much faster now. I love how this product is on my cat so I know that she is never 'out of range' like I worry with diffusers.
At first we were really excited about this collar. It seemed to really calm and relax our senior cat as we were hoping. Unfortunately about a week or so after putting the collar on our kitty started to slowly lose her appetite and eventually she started completely rejecting her food (which in her entire long life she has never refused) and throwing up for multiple times a day for multiple days. We really hoped this wasn't it, but it was the only thing in her life/our home that had changed since her symptoms started. We removed the collar and within a day she stopped puking and slowly started to regain her appetite. So unfortunately we will not be using this again.
Smell is very nice, collar is very secure and seems comfortable. My cat keeps biting the edges of it, but zero concern that my cat will be able to break it off / eat pieces of it. I don't see any tangible effect of the calming smell, but it sure smells nice to me!
Unfortunately it did not work for my cat. She’s a little over one and she’s very hyper and wants attention all the time and wants to go outside. She meows a lot! This did not calm her down. She didn’t mind the colar and did not cause any discomfort, she wants attention 24/7 hehe. We play with her a lot but we’re hoping to get her calmer when we are working from home. Oh well! Hope it works for others!
