My vet began only carrying this product after using Comfortis prior. My golden retriever ended up dying from the harsh side effects. She began having head tremors, then siezures and Ataxia all after giving her this. She only lived 6 months afterwards. At month 3 she had a few small flea egg spots and we gave her another (didn't know better at the time). Her frequency became much greater and got much worse. Sometimes having multiple siezures/day. We had to put her down before her 10th birthday. I'm convinced it was after giving her Simparica. NEVER AGAIN will I give to any more of my dogs. Lucy was very healthy prior rarely ever going to the vet.
First I did not buy this from Chewy but I have to share this info because it can save someone else. We recently switched our dogs from Tri Heart to Simparica Trio since that is what our vet suggested. Our puppy did fine with her first dose however our eight year old dog became extremely ill. About three days after taking Simparica Trio he began having horrible diarrhea every hour and the next day he vomited all day. This has never happened with him before. He could not keep water or food down at all and was very lethargic. We spent nearly five thousand dollars at the emergency vet doing every test possible and no one could find anything wrong. After a week he is finally getting better and on antibiotics. If we did not take him to the vet I am not sure how he would be. Do NOT buy this ever. Older dogs seem to have much more side effects. We are definitely switching back to Tri Heart
If you have an epileptic dog - RESEARCH before administering this. I had a terrible experience with this medication. It worked well for my past dogs but caused a huge increase in seizure frequency with my epileptic dog. After meeting with a vet neurologist, I learned that seizure dogs needed to avoid heart worm medication in the Isoxazoline class, such as Simparica. Once I took my dog off this, his seizures decreased. He is doing great on heartworm medication NOT in the Isoxazoline class,
This is our first month of autoship order but believe me we researched and found this price is the cheapest one Quick delivery even though it had to be prescription approved
My dog has taken this for years and it’s worked well with no issues. He used to be on simparica/heartgard combo before switching to simparica trio. He’s never had fleas or any other sort of infestation. And loves it as a treat
Ordering dog toothpaste was a horrible experience. The request was for Enzadent. Chewy kept substituting Vet's Best as five stars. Finally, with no option, I accepted it. Then I get a toothpaste that is decidedly rejected by a dog that ordinarily loves teeth brushing with Enzadent. $40 wasted on this order of five tubes.
Well, my dog took this diligently and still got fleas. Now I have to de-flea my dog and my home, which is an expensive task. I spoke with Chewy customer service and they were unapologetic, unhelpful, and unavailable-- which is not an experience I have had in the past. Because of this, I will switch back to getting medications directly from the vet.
Filling this order was incredibly easy. Also, my dog LOVES the taste. I purchased pill treats because I wasn't sure she would eat the pills - she is hesitant with new food/flavors. It turns out it was a waste of money buying the pill treats to hide these in because she loves Simparica Trio to the point she thinks they ARE the treat.
The price from Chewy was $3 less than my vet's office plus it was delivered to my door saving me gas and time.
Chewy has always been great for me dog food and now they were great in helping me keep my dog safe from heart worms and fleas. Great phone help when checking on pricing and setting up auto ship. Always good service. Thank you
