Questions & Answers

Where do they source their ingredients and vitamins from?
Answer by ChewyNov 07, 2019
Taste of the Wild uses USA-sourced ingredients whenever possible, but will outsource some ingredients like buffalo from India, for best quality and availability. There are ingredients that are critical to their formulations (i.e. folic acid and taurine) that can only be sourced out of China included in some recipes.

Does this contain any eggs or egg products? My dog has allergies to them. I did not see any while reading the ingredients, but I would feel more comfortable knowing someone else didn't find them in the description as well.
Answer by ChewyOct 09, 2019

They love it!

I have been feeding my mini Aussie Taste of the Wild for about 3 years now. She loves it, and we like to try different flavors. Recently I inherited my dad’s dog, an older lab mix. My dad fed “Gage” regular dog food, basically whatever was on sale at the supermarket. After 2 months of eating Taste of the Wild, I can’t get over the physical changes in Gage. His coat is much thicker, he is more active, and he absolutely loves his kibbles. I highly recommend this food.

What I think

As far as the dog food my dogs are real picky eaters and I have not found a dry dog food yet but I'm still trying and I'm sure this is a good dog food but I haven't tried it, as far as chewy.com I love it simplifies my life living in a small town America. With chewy.com I'll go click click boom I can move on to the next project absolutely love it thank you

Great dog food for some.

I had bought dog food prior to Taste of the wild. And I was refunded for what I bought. I in turn bought a large bag of Taste of the Wild and they won't eat it either. I didn't want to contact the company because I didn't want them to think I was running a scam. Now I have two large bags of dog food I have to donate and buy more for these three little snitts of mine. Nothing wrong with this dog food it has all the good stuff in it my dogs just won't eat it. From now on I will buy a smaple bag and try that first.

good quality food

I purchased this food after being told by my vet to get a different food. Both of my dogs seem to like it and it has been rated one of the top dog foods to purchase.

My dog got sick

My Dutch Shepherd got sick on this blend. He threw up and had diarrhea from it. He is fine on the normal blend. Evidently, the "Ancient Grain" variety doesn't agree with him.

Great so far!

I just switched to this food from Blue Mountain. Food is lighter in color, but the Dogs & cats seem to like it. I mixed it with blue to prevent any "issues" from the change.

Higher protein

I chose this due to its higher protein content and recommendation on one of the dog food review sites. My greys seem to like it (although they are not picky eaters). I just wish they had a larger kibble for big dogs. Will probably blend with other large breed food.

Dry Dog Food

For a Dry Dog food, this is a good kibble. There are so many kibbles that aren't good for our friends, this one is a good one for a kibble.

packaging s

I received the two bags and my dogs love this food. However the bottom package inside the box was sliced open from the top of the back to bottom of the bag on the backside of the bag. Vertically, this caused a huge mess and there was dog food all over the inside of the box, on the floor and well I had to toss out most of it since I wasnt sure if it had been tampered with or what. I did not want to feed that to my babies. Please have whomever packages the food to be extra careful and try not to slice open the bags.

Dogs love it

My dogs love the flavor of this food, however their stools have been loose since switching. I had previously used taste of the wild grain free option, but moved away from that with research about the problems with grain free foods. When TOTW offered a grain inclusive variety we switched back. Unfortunately, we won't be sticking with it because of loose stool even after weeks of using. I wanted it to work because I think it's a high quality dog food with high quality ingredients.
