Description

Tresaderm is a combination ear and skin medication prescribed to dogs and cats. This medication contains an antifungal, corticosteroid and a broad-spectrum antibiotic to treat inflammation, as well as bacterial and fungal infections of the ear and skin. This topical solution comes in convenient drop form, making treatment easier for you and your pet.

Uses

Tresaderm is applied directly on the skin or in the ears in order to kill susceptible bacteria, fungus, and yeast. It also helps relieve local inflammation associated with the infection.

Possible Side Effects

Skin irritation and redness at the affected area is possible. If Tresaderm is used on an open wound, it can cause minimal pain for up to 15 minutes. If ingested or used chronically, side effects from the dexamethasone may be noted including increased drinking/urination, vomiting, immune suppression, and weight gain. These side effects can resolve when the dosage is decreased.

Some pets may have an allergic reaction to the ingredients in Tresaderm although this is not common.

Drug & Food Interactions

Interactions are possible with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), other corticosteroids, or gentamicin. Other interactions may occur. Discuss all medications/supplements your pet is taking with your veterinarian prior to giving Tresaderm to make sure it can be given safely.

Precautions

Pets with an allergy to any of ingredients shouldn't use Tresaderm. In dogs birth defects have been reported with the use of corticosteroids. This medication shouldn't be ingested; it's for topical use only. Avoid contact with eyes.

    Chewy To The Rescue!!

    By on

My poodle (Quita) is prone to ear infections, and with the stay-at-home order, it made it difficult to get her into the vet. Chewy To The Rescue!! I ordered the medication my wonderful vet had previously prescribed, and Chewy jumped into action. It was delivered SO FAST! The medicine arrived in a cooler with two ice packs--amazing! My sweet Quita was on the mend in no time!

First of all, Thank you Chewy for delivering this to our home when we couldn't get to the Vets office because of Lockdown restrictions! When we adopted our boy he had ear infections and Tresaderm was the only thing that worked. He started with another and Chewy delivered well packed with ice packs and in a cooler, again THANK YOU!!!!!

Review of service, as well as product

    By on

Tresaderm is Tresaderm: an effective option for my dog's frequent ear infections. However, it has to be refrigerated and requires special shipping considerations. As always, Chewy rose to the occasion: they shipped it on time, kept it refrigerated, and went above and beyond to make sure it got to us efficiently and intact. Thank you so much!

    Not happy with prescription service

    By on

Took a long time for the pharmacy to get ahold of my vet. Many emails back and forth to get this done. Package on bottle and all paperwork with this didn’t tell amount to give.

Got it for my dog's chronic ear infection

    By on

My dog's vet prescribed these drops for my dog's chronic ear infection and I have you say that I am beyond impressed how well Chewy packaged and shipped the medication, and it was $10 less than at the vets'. These otic drops have to be refrigerated and I was concerned that it would spoil in the travel but Chewy packed it in a cooler with frozen packs and it reached my home in two days nice and cold. The drops are use to treat yeast in the ears and they work.

    Finally gone!

    By on

After trying 3 different ear treatments for my dog’s ear infection, this finally knocked it out in 3 days. Worked so well and didn’t need a ton of product to do the job.

    Miracle worker!

    By on

Used to treat a clowder of 15 rescue cats and it worked wonders while it lasted. My only wish is that it was available in a larger quantity sized bottle. One 15 ml bottle only lasted barely 2 days.

In an enormous box. I should have checked the size. It did the job.
