broken items

This is the third time I have ordered a product from Chewy and it comes to me, pre broken. I did not receive a reply to fixing the issue last time. The base of the scratching post is completely split in half. The box was no smooshed, which leads me to believe it was packaged already broken. Not a FedEx issue. I duck taped and stapled the base as I don’t expect to receiving a fix to this problem.

Tall & Well Made Scratching Posts- My Guys Love Them!

For years I listened to my wife's complaints that our 4 cats have started a toothpick factory, reducing a (formerly) new dining room set to a rustic pile of scrap wood little by little. 6 months ago I bought our 1st scratching post on a whim- maybe I won't need to sand & refinish chair legs as often; I optomistically placed the post between 2 of the chairs. Our 2 males started using it immediately! We couldn't believe how simple it was to implement wildly successful feline behavioral modification- A few days later I bought a 2nd post, placing it by the front door, as our cats prefer our Florida front yard sandbox. Sure enough, both males scratch the post to request a door opening, then celebrate a successful potty trip upon their return, stretching while scratching as if it was a tree stump. Perfect! After 6 months both of our original posts had the sisal rope windings frayed & tattered, partially unravelling- time for new posts. These Trixie's are great replacements. They're well made and the square bases are larger than the original posts I had bought at the big blue box store, which turns out to be an important detail as the larger base stabilizes the post while the cat hangs from it- the originals would fall over sometimes. Happy to report the new ones from Chewy have been in service for over 2 weeks & remain upright at all times. Finally, these posts are a full 4 inches in diameter plus they're 24" tall, bigger in both ways as compared to our original posts. My males are big boys- not rotund, just at the upper end of the scale for larger than usual house cats that are weight-appropriate for their skeletal dimensions. These Trixie Scratching Posts look like they were custom made for my guys and are standing up well to their daily cat attacks.
