About This Item

Details

  • This aerosol helps to administer medication prescribed by veterinarians to treat chronic bronchitis, allergic rhinitis and feline asthma.
  • Simply snap the medication into the chamber—your cat just needs to breathe normally to get the help she needs!
  • Unique Flow-Vu Indicator gives you the visual assurance that the medication is being inhaled, and the device is being used properly.
  • Antistatic design means you don't need to worry about static cling—the medication won't stick, so it's easy for your cat to inhale.
  • Special low-resistance valve is designed especially for companion animals, so it only releases the medication when your cat is ready.

how do you clean the AeroKat Cat Asthma Aerosol Chamber

Answer by ChewyJan 08, 2019
It's recommended to soak the parts for 15 minutes in a mild solution of liquid dish detergent and lukewarm clean water. Agitate gently and then rinse parts in clean water.

Approximately how long does 1 can last?

Answer by ChewySep 15, 2018
The medication isn't included with this system. Prescribed medication like inhalers are attached to the end of the chamber, and pumped in, allowing your cat to breathe it in through the Trudell Medical International Chamber. Each pump that's pumped into the item is typically breathed in within 7-10 breaths.

Are two sizes of mouth-nose cups included or just one, as pictured?

Answer by ChewyJul 14, 2018
This includes two face masks: (1) small mask for cats weighing 10 pounds or less, (1) large mask for cats weighing 10 pounds or more.

How often should the chamber/ spacer be replaced?

Answer by ChewyOct 17, 2024
The chamber should be replaced every 12 months to ensure optimal drug delivery, since the anti-static property within the chamber that helps to keep the medication suspended until inhaled by your pet, will diminish after use and maintenance. The medication will then start to adhere to the inside surface of the chamber and not reach your pet's lungs.

Recently found out my cat is asthmatic so the vet started her on an inhaler and recommended using ONLY AeroKat. Ive been using it for about 2 weeks now, its super easy to use. I was concerned before using I wouldnt be able to get the flow vu to be visible but its easy to move the device so the flow vu is in view and if its not in view you can hear a light tap from the flow vu with each breath to count to the required breathing dose. The device also had helpful tips like puffing the inhaler before putting the mask on your pets face so the loud sound doesn't scare them away (thats what ive been doing and shes been doing great since day one!) My cat does hide from it when i shake the inhaler but she takes it like a champ with no fighting or resisting

Got this for my cat who needed to start on an inhaler 2x a day. The smallest snoot size fits him (hes 10 lbs) and with some treats and training he's been able to get used to it, he actually purrs while he gets his dose now. The breath counter tab is really nice and instructions provided were helpful.

The AeroKat is so convenient!!

We were struggling to figure out if our cat was even getting her albuterol. We were given an infant mask by our local pharmacy which isn’t made for a cat’s snout. There is an indicator at the top of the AeroKat which enables you to count breaths and the mask fits a snout. It’s perfect!

I tried various cheaper aerosol chambers that were either too big for my cat's face or too small. It's worth the price to get a chamber that my cat tolerates and that delivers the medication correctly.

Necessary for administering albuterol

This Aerocat Asthma Aerosol Chamber aids in the administration of asthma meds, and provides a way to count your cat’s breaths as he inhales the meds.

So, I was skeptical about buying this instead of a cheaper one meant for children off another site. But my skepticism went away when a member of Chewy chat told me if it didn't work I could return it. You see, my kitty Rorschach, was just diagnosed with asthma. I looked into chambers everywhere and this one was recommended for the Flow-Vu mechanism because as a first time inhaler administrator, I need to see if he's actually inhaling his Fluticasone. It works so well and I can count the breaths he takes by the Flow-Vu mechanism opening and closing. I couldn't be happier with this and highly recommend it, at least for first time parents of asthmatic furkids!!!

My cat has been receiving inhaler treatments for over five years. This is truly the only quality spacer. 2021 it was not available as readily and I purchased a knockoff that did not work at all. She would inhale and it did not work. I tried it, same, nothing. Worth the money and trust. I have 2 always that I rotate, while cleaning the other. Use one through full completion of inhaler and then switch to a clean one. Replace both annually. Save for the hair on her nose, but a spacer cozy from Etsy!!!! Trust me, a God send.

Our senior cat developed asthma recently and we tried several treatments (recommended by her veterinarian) before we began using an inhaler. It took some time for her to adapt to using it and I believe the AeroKat has helped deliver medication that truly improves her health and quality of life. I highly recommend it.

I'm unable to review this product bc I have not used it yet. The inhaler apparatus that allows you to administer aerosol meds takes some work to get your cat to accept it. I'm still working on getting him used to the unit itself so haven't given him any meds with it yet.
