About This Item

Details

  • This aerosol helps to administer medication prescribed by veterinarians to treat chronic bronchitis, allergic rhinitis and feline asthma.
  • Simply snap the medication into the chamber—your cat just needs to breathe normally to get the help she needs!
  • Unique Flow-Vu Indicator gives you the visual assurance that the medication is being inhaled, and the device is being used properly.
  • Antistatic design means you don't need to worry about static cling—the medication won't stick, so it's easy for your cat to inhale.
  • Special low-resistance valve is designed especially for companion animals, so it only releases the medication when your cat is ready.

how do you clean the AeroKat Cat Asthma Aerosol Chamber

Answer by ChewyJan 08, 2019
It's recommended to soak the parts for 15 minutes in a mild solution of liquid dish detergent and lukewarm clean water. Agitate gently and then rinse parts in clean water.

Approximately how long does 1 can last?

Answer by ChewySep 15, 2018
The medication isn't included with this system. Prescribed medication like inhalers are attached to the end of the chamber, and pumped in, allowing your cat to breathe it in through the Trudell Medical International Chamber. Each pump that's pumped into the item is typically breathed in within 7-10 breaths.

Are two sizes of mouth-nose cups included or just one, as pictured?

Answer by ChewyJul 14, 2018
This includes two face masks: (1) small mask for cats weighing 10 pounds or less, (1) large mask for cats weighing 10 pounds or more.

How often should the chamber/ spacer be replaced?

Answer by ChewyOct 17, 2024
The chamber should be replaced every 12 months to ensure optimal drug delivery, since the anti-static property within the chamber that helps to keep the medication suspended until inhaled by your pet, will diminish after use and maintenance. The medication will then start to adhere to the inside surface of the chamber and not reach your pet's lungs.

If you have asthma or have been around people with asthma this spacer should not be of any shock. It is essentially the same but for animal snouts. I appreciated that mine came with two muzzle sizes, both work for my cat. I was nervous about counting breaths until I realized a green flap in the spacer physically moves per breath, making the entire experience of giving my kitty her asthma medicine so much easier. I will warn pet owners, especially cat owners, that I wouldn't bother testing out triggering the inhaler while your pet's face is in the spacer. Doing that freaked out my cat really bad, and prior to that she was not afraid of the spacer at all nor did she mind having it on her face. Because we tested it out, she is now afraid of the spacer and we will need to regain that trust. So, if your animal tends to be untrustworthy towards new things, go ahead and trigger the inhaler medication into the spacer before placing your pet's muzzle in the mouth side!!

This review is based on the delivery and not the actual item. The aerosol chamber is for my cat and is to be used as a rescue inhaler and fortunately I have not had to use it. The item was delivered with a few other things but was placed under a heavy item and the box was smashed. It looks like the aerosol chamber was not damaged...hopefully not damaged as it will only be used in an emergency. This was not the only item smashed nor it is the first shipping problem I have had with Chewy in the recent months. I have been a customer since 2017 and this type of stuff used to never happen, but now it seems that they just don't care about the quality of their customer service.

this is the most stress-free way to treat your cat. i've never treated cat asthma before so when my little girl was diagnosed i was so nervous. after a couple weeks of using the inhaler its turned into a positive experience for the both of us, she'll even purr while taking her meds, probably cuz she knows she's getting a treat for it! she'll even cuddle me afterwards cuz i sit her on my lap to do it. this is a must-have for cat asthma, and if you introduce it to them right, they'll learn to appreciate it!

Great device. I showed this to my cat before needing to use it. I also dispensed the inhaler in it before placing it on her face....didn't want to scare her. I wrapped her in a swaddle and with lots of comforting words, put this over her nose and mouth. A bit apprehensive but used it and it worked.

Works except ...

The little flapper thing that allows the medicine to flow through gets stuck if not COMPLETELY dry, and it's hard to tell sometimes if it is until you try to use
