Syringes are primarily used to administer insulin to dogs and cats.
Used sharps should be immediately placed in a sharps disposal container. FDA-cleared sharps containers are generally available through pharmacies, medical supply companies, health care providers and online. These containers are made of puncture-resistant plastic with leak-resistant sides and bottom. They also have a tight fitting, puncture-resistant lid. If an FDA-cleared container is not available a heavy-duty plastic household container, such as a laundry detergent container can be used as an alternative.
Use according to your veterinarian's instructions.
Syringes should be kept out of the reach of children and pets.
These syringes are prescribed by your veterinarian in order to deliver insulin to your pet. Insulin syringes list volume as units. U-40 syringes are used to administer ProZinc insulin for cats. Make sure you are using the correct syringe for the insulin your pet needs. Incorrect syringe sizes will result in incorrect insulin dosing. Only your veterinarian can write a prescription for U-40 syringes.
The U-40 Syringe is a high quality, sterile, insulin syringe that is used to administer insulin to diabetic pets, primarily cats. It is primarily used to administer ProZinc insulin. Make sure your veterinarian teaches you how to give insulin injections properly prior to use. Different syringes are necessary for different types of insulin so make sure you are ordering the correct insulin syringe for your pet. U-40 syringes are available with a prescription from your veterinarian. Make sure you dispose of insulin syringes properly in a sharps container. Do not throw away in the regular trash.
A required safety for family with pets in need of injections for a numbe of reasons.
I am so happy with my Insulin syringes and container box. The Vets office we use told us to put the syringes after use in a milk bottle and discard them in the garbage. But the Health Department said to bring them to them and they would discard them properly. So by ordering the 100 syringes that are contained in the bottom of the container and the container, we use them, put them in the holder then take them to the Health Department. Proper discarding of a dangerous needle. Thank you!
I thought I ordered 1 Unit incriment syringes but it turned out to be TINY 1/2 units which was very hard to draw correctly....
I really like these arrangees due to having halves since I have to inject 3 1/2 units of insulin to my furry baby and with the other syringes that didn’t have 1/2 it always worried me that I wasn’t giving her the right dose.
Happy to save money at Chewy for insulin syringes for my dog. A plus: they came with a plastic container for disposal. Since the price of Vetsulin has increased considerably over the last four years, it feels like I hit the jackpot!
One of our cats is diabetic. Our new vet recommended the syringes with half unit markings to better dial in his vetsulin doses.
I have tried several syringes because I was previously at the mercy of the local pharmacy. These are great and I love that they come with a sharps container that I can easily take to my vet for disposal. Really glad that I can order these through Chewy.
I like this brand of syringes, and the handle container to throw away used syringes. I have not had any opened, or broken or non functioning ones. Easy to read markings. I have use the 1/3 cc and 1/2 cc, and both work well.
I bought this mostly for the container. Could have bought the syringes without it but I love the organization with this unit. It's great to be able to store the used syringes.
Once my Vet approved the order, I got these very quickly. I also got her brand of insulin delivered at the same time! Came wrapped in a cold foam pack so the insulin didn’t get warm. Half price from what the vet charges.
