Weruva Wx Phos Focused

With naturally low phosphorus and high-quality proteins like boneless skinless chicken breast, boneless tilapia filets, and egg whites, Wx Phos Focused recipes help maintain muscle mass and are highly palatable, for peace of mind when it matters most.

Fully Cooked Freeze Dried

Weruva Wx freeze dried fully cooked foods deliver the perfect balance of nutrition, convenience, and flavor. They are safe to leave out overnight without worrying about spoilage—ideal for cats who prefer to graze or eat at their own pace.

Foods For The Obligate Carnivore

Cats with kidney issues may benefit from diets with lower levels of phosphorus, but they still need adequate levels of high-quality protein to maintain muscle mass. Cats are carnivores who need meat—these formulas provide the muscle fuel they need.

The Weruva Wx Phos Focused Difference

Wx Phos Focused formulas provide substantial levels of protein to help maintain muscle mass in a lower phosphorous formula. While it will not cure kidney issues, a low phosphorous diet may help with the ailments related to declining kidney health.

About Weruva

Weruva is a family company, wholly owned and operated by pet parents David and Stacie Forman since 2006. They originally developed Weruva, a luxurious natural pet food, for their three rescued cats: Webster, Rudi, and Vanessa.

My CKD guy has gotten picky with his food, maybe the disease maybe his age reducing appetite/sense of smell, but these little bits are a miracle. I crumble a couple on his Rx wet & dry foods & he immediately eats some. They're *very* fragrant. I ask him if he wants "stinky bits" & rattle the bag. He always says "yes, plz!" Great product for kidney kitties!

Stinky, but cats (and dog) like them

My 15-year-old female cat was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and I've been trying to switch her to the Weruva WX low phosphorus wet food, so I also ordered a bag of these as she and my male cat (age 14 and diabetic) both love the freeze dried chicken treats from Trader Joe's and these seemed similar. I've been crushing a few up as a topper for their wet food and I was shocked by how smelly they are, but the cats seem to like them (and even the dog comes running out when she hears me opening the bag). They have limited ingredients so they seem to be an okay treat/topper for my diabetic kitty too, as he can't have dry food/treats anymore. This would be super expensive if you were using it as a dry food replacement or a meal by itself, but it's a good option for a treat and/or food topper. Just be prepared for your fingers to smell like rotting garbage after you touch these!

CKD Kitty Loves This!

Found a safe treat for my diabetic, ckd kitty. Now he demands me to sprinkle a little on all his meals. Won’t eat and just stares at me until I add some of these treats on top. Even had been effective in giving medication by adding these treats. They do have a strong fish smell but he goes crazy for them!

Not a solution for us

The cat that needs a low phosphorus diet refused to eat these. My healthy cats eat them OK. These do have a really strong fish smell.
