If my dog is 40lbs how many capsules do I give for the first 30 days?

Answer by ChewyJan 06, 2022
For a pet weighing up to 25 pounds, the dog would receive 1 capsule a day for 30 days (that is the loading dose) and then 1 capsule every other day thereafter. For a pet weighing over 25 pounds, the dog would receive 2 capsules a day for 30 days (that is the loading dose) and then 1 capsule per day thereafter.

Can this be given with Antinol?

Answer by ChewyAug 17, 2023
You can combine 1-TDC with Antinol. 1-TDC is a more effective fatty acid as it helps both oral and joint health due to it’s unique absorption properties. Our chief medical officer does recommend that you use half of the green-lip muscle when combining it with 1-TDC.

Can this be refrigerated to prevent oils from going rancid?

Answer by ChewyJul 22, 2024
The oils will not go rancid. The product can be refrigerated, but it is not required. If the you decide to refrigerate, we recommend pulling the capsule out 30 minutes before administering so that the capsules softens and is easier to squeeze. It is best to keep the bottle in a dark, cool place.

So I adopted my cat a year ago now. He was a stray living on the streets. He was found when he was being chased by a dog. Terrified, he went over a fence, but the top of the fence was razor wire. He went up a tree and had to be rescued by the fire department. He was disemboweled by the razor wire and probably wouldn't have made it except for a rescue group stepping in and paying for his medical care. He was skinny, had giardia and bad teeth that already had gingivitis and he was only 1 1/2 years old (estimate). So of course that's the cat I adopt. They told me that I would need to break open one of these capsules and rub it on his gums. Oh-kaaayyy. Well, I thought I could at least try. On his first dental appointment 3 months after I got him he had to have 10 front teeth pulled. On his second appointment 3 months after that, they said no teeth needed to be pulled but to prepare myself as probably on his next appointment some would be pulled. 3 months later, again no teeth pulled but gums were still looking slightly red at the margins. Next appointment, vet says keep doing what you're doing his teeth are looking good! We'll see you in 6 months (not 3!). This is the only thing I'm doing. Does he love it...no. Do I let him get away with no having it done daily...no. So there it is, I definitely attribute his recovery to the 1-TDC capsules. I will be continuing to use them and who knows, maybe next vet visit they'll tell me "see you in a year!"

My Sylvester has stomatitis. I reviewed the three papers available on this subject. All recommended pulling all of his teeth as a possible remedy but not a permanent cure. I'd seen 1-TDC promoted by a well-known cat man and tried it on Sylvester. On his last dental the vet was impressed by how well his gums looked and the sleek texture of his coat. He did have to have one pre-molar extracted due to a resorptive lesion. While 1-TDC is not a permanent cure, it is a beneficial remedy to keep Sylverster's stomatitis in check.

I can't get my cat to take this....

I've tried squirting onto food or into mouth (very challenging) and putting on lips ... nothing seems to work. Would be terrific if this came as a chewable treat

Perfect for my cat who has a congenital heart defect and can't have dental surgery. I cut the end and squirt out the insides in his bowl. Now that I have a dog, I give him the outer part so I don't waste it. (My cat doesn't eat the outer part but that's for mobility).

My young dog broke her front leg as a puppy. Although she doesn’t limp, she would often hold her paw in the air when sitting. My vet recommended this supplement. After about a year I didn’t think it made much of a difference because she would still sometimes hold her paw up. After I stopped giving it to her, I could definitely see that paw in the air a lot more frequently. She’s back on it now.

Cat likes, hard to cut open

My cat likes these as well as the version the vet sold me. She's eager to lick this first when I serve her dinner. However, the casing requires my garden shears

My two pups love these. It's supposed to be good for joints and alo dental hygiene, and it also also freshens their breath. I cut the tops off of the soft capsules, squeeze the paste onto my index finger, and then rub the paste over their teeth, Easier than brushing and they love the flavor.
