Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

How to Use

Wet your pet’s coat thoroughly with warm water. Apply the recommended amount of flea and tick shampoo according to the label and rub in to create a rich lather, working from head to tail and avoiding eyes. Massage lather and allow it to remain on the coat for 3–5 minutes. Rinse well with clean water and towel dry. For best results, repeat flea bath as needed every 7 to 14 days. Always read and follow label directions. For dogs and cats over 12 weeks old.

What is the difference between shampoo with precor and the regular?

This shampoo kills fleas, ticks, and lice on contact, plus is contains soothing aloe, lanolin and oatmeal. It has precor, which is an insect growth regulator, it keeps immature fleas from growing into reproducing adults – thus breaking their life cycle. While the regular cleansing shampoo kills fleas, flea eggs, ticks (Brown dog ticks and American dog ticks), and lice, plus is breaks the flea life cycle.

What is Precor?

Precor is the branded ingredient of Methoprene, which is an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator). An IGR keeps immature fleas from growing into reproducing adults – thus breaking their life cycle. Precor kills eggs and larvae for up to 28 days.

Can I apply topical flee treatment to my cat after I bath him with this & dry him?

It is recommended to wait 24-48 hours after bathing to apply most topicals.

How far in advanced should flea/tick collars come off prior to using this? The drops not collars are doing a justice and we need some relief

You should wait at least 24-48 hours from the last use of another flea and tick product before using this shampoo as it is not recommended to concurrently treat your dog with more than one pesticide product at a time. You should always consult with your vet before adding or making any changes to your pet's medications.

He still had a lot of fleas living on him after giving him the bath. On the plus side, it smelled good, his coat looked nice, and he did not have any adverse reactions to it.

I have a schnoodle who has very delicate skin and a Lhasa Apso whose hair is very thick. This shampoo works well for both. I have tried other shampoos and I keep coming back to this one. Their fur is soft and silky no knots. A small amount goes a long way as it lathers very well. The scent lasts for about two weeks, just in time for their bath again. Love Love Love it works for my fur babies

The description Chewy gives of this product makes it sound wonderful and easy to use to remedy flea problems. However, once we received the bottle there are all kinds of warnings on the bottle: "Harmful if absorbed thru the skin" "Avoid contact with eyes, skin, clothing..." "If on skin or clothing take off contaminated clothing & rinse skin for 15-20 minutes!"
