Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Is it safe for when the kittens lick themselves or each other?
Answer by ChewyFeb 16, 2023
Do not get this product in the cat’s eyes or allow the cat to ingest this product. Treatment at the base of the skull will minimize the opportunity for the cat to lick the product. Do not allow the product to run off.

Can you use advantage for kittens on a ferret?
Answer by ChewyAug 22, 2018
Advantage II for Small Cats 5-9 Pounds was recently approved to be used for ferret flea control. It would be best to use that product with your ferrets instead. Ferrets using Advantage II must be 1 lb or over and be 10 weeks of age or older.

Does this also kill ticks and mites like some of the other products?
Answer by ChewyFeb 18, 2023
This formula is specifically designed to effectively break the flea life cycle by killing flea eggs, larvae, and adults to help prevent infestation on your pet. It is not suitable for killing ticks and or mites.

I am wondering if advantage kittens is safe for rabbits?
Answer by ChewyAug 07, 2019
At this time, there are no rabbit-specific treatments for managing fleas. We recommend consulting with a veterinarian familiar with rabbits regarding the proper topical and environmental treatments.

Quick and effective

Received the Advantage II quickly and in great shape despite that it was pouring the day of delivery. Worked rapidly with my new 3 month old kitty Windmill and Cash received great coverage from the large size.

works great

We have a 6 month old kitten who is very tiny for his age this worked great to control the fleas on him. I use this brand on our older much larger cats and would definitely recommend this product and the Advantage II flea control line!

My Go-To for Fleas!

I’ve used brand for fleas this for years on every cat I’ve had. It works like a charm. Never had an issue. I had recently rescued a kitten who was outside and she was covered in fleas. After using the dosages we got them all gone! I also now use this flea treatment when it comes the season for extra precaution. Everyone should also make sure when treating your animal for fleas you need to make sure the fleas are out of your carpet, furniture, blankets, etc. They can live and reinfect your pet if you don’t treat your home! Invest in an at home flea spray for house. Pest spray works as well but can be extremely toxic for animals. Also clean! Clean! Clean! Wash your blankets in hot to kill them off! Don’t expect things like this to work at their full potential when you aren’t getting rid of fleas in all aspects.

Recommended by vets

I have purchased this after getting recommended by a vet. The vet claims that advantage kills 99% of the fleas. It is the best out of all products and so far my cats have no problem with fleas. It is very easy to use.

Didn’t work very well

i found 2 kittens on the street that were covered in fleas, after washing them throughly in dawn dish soap and keeping them confined in one space, i decided to buy this to put on them & it didn’t work very well, it lowered the amount of fleas for about a week and a half, while they’re were still fleas on them, there was only small fleas, all of the larger adult fleas seemed to disappear, then after the almost 2 weeks they were itching a lot more, i combed them bathed them cleaned all bedding, this treatment is a bit weak, not very strong at all

Good stuff

I don't know what I'd do if not for advantage kitten. I rescued 6 kittens at 4 weeks old. It was so frustrating trying to keep them flea free. I was using a flea comb then capstar but it wasn't enough to rid them of fleas. once they weighed the required weight I did a happy dance! The advantage kitten took care of the fleas..I 'm happy and so are they. I'll definitely keep it on hand for them.

Didnt really work for my ferrets

i bought this for my ferrets who have had fleas for most of this season all spring and summer & now too, it wasnt an infestation but there was quite a few fleas big & small, i deep cleaned everything and they are still here its so annoying, if it was too work maybe it would get rid of a small percentage of them not sure how but it definitely does not kill off all of them & if it does work its only for like 2 weeks

Works As Good As Seresto

I bought this product when the vet recommended it for my 12 week old kitten because she is intolerant to the material that the Seresto collar is made from. It caused her skin to become a little red and irritated and itchy from the collar and the vet ruled out it wasn’t the active ingredients. My other two cats do well with Seresto and this product has one of the 2 active ingredients as Seresto, Imidacloprid. The few days she was without any flea treatment, she had a few fleas on her that she came into contact with because we had someone come in to our home for a day or two that had a flea problem at their house. Ever since we treated our kitten with the Advantage, there hasn’t been 1 sign of a flea and no scratching as well. It was easy to use also. We made sure we treated the house just in case but reading up on this product, the skin and hair they shed contains the Imidacloprid in it because it’s designed to get into the fatty layer of skin and distribute there and when they do shed, they shed the flea medicine in that skin and hair that get into the carpet and upholstery of your home and it further prevents fleas and flea eggs and flea larvae that way. I’ve been using products from Elanco for a few years now and I am highly satisfied with the results their products produce 100%!! This is one of the most safe and effective methods of treating your kitten for fleas.

Did nothing

I bought this aswe recently rescued a stray kitten, of course covered in fleas, so I thought this was supposed to be a good brand, but nope, fleas ended up spreading to the other cats we have. On top of this not working, packaging was awful, they put this tiny box in with 20lb bag of litter... needless to say that flea med box was destroyed, luckily the meds didn't get damaged, but med ended up not working regardless, just be mindful will packaging small items with heavy. Now off to find a different flea med.
