FAQ

Learn More About Advantage II From Our Team of Experts

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

About Advantage II for Cats

Can I Use Advantage II on My Cat?

easy to use

I like how this preventative is easy to use. If the cat lets you get close you can quickly deposit the liquid on their back while they are eating. No negative reactions

Did not stop the fleas

I adopted a kitten and realized he had fleas. I purchased advantage with the hopes it would kill the adult fleas and eggs. Two weeks later my kitten was still scratching

I adopted a kitten and realized he had fleas. I purchased advantage with the hopes it would kill the adult fleas and eggs. Two weeks later my kitten was still scratching and I found adult fleas on him when I used the flea comb. I gave him another dose since the instructions said I could after two weeks. I still found a live adult flea on him two days after the second dose. I vacuum the house everyday and have washed all his bedding. I also started using a waterless fleas shampoo which seems to help more. I don’t want to continue to put chemicals on him so I’ll try an oral treatment from a vet next. Others have had great success with Advantage but it did not work for us.

No Visible Difference

I didn’t see any improvements while my cat was on this. It was seemingly ineffective. We are trying vet prescribed medication now to see if that makes a difference

I didn’t see any improvements while my cat was on this. It was seemingly ineffective. We are trying vet prescribed medication now to see if that makes a difference. He has fleas, and one worm. He was on this stuff for 2 months and no difference whatsoever. Definitely disappointing!

It only lasted a week.

Again, this medicine only lasted about a week. I treated my yard, washed all the bedding, treated my house, and both cats are already covered again. Maybe it works

Again, this medicine only lasted about a week. I treated my yard, washed all the bedding, treated my house, and both cats are already covered again. Maybe it works for some people but it didn't help my cats. Maybe fleas are built different in Southwest Missouri. Next stop is the vet for a prescription that hopefully works.
