Important Information
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

- Twist cap to break seal, then remove cap from tube.
- Part the hair on the neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube on the skin and squeeze the tube to expel the entire contents directly on the skin. Do not get this product in your cat’s eyes, or allow your cat to ingest this product. The product is bitter tasting and salivation may occur for a short time if the cat licks the product immediately after treatment. Treatment at the base of the skull will minimize the opportunity for the cat to lick the product. Do not allow the product to run off.
- Discard empty tube.
- Under normal conditions this product is effective for a month. However, in cases of severe flea infestation, retreatment may be necessary earlier than 4 weeks. Do not retreat more often than once every 14 days for kittens or once every 7 days for small and large cats. After flea control is attained, return to a monthly retreatment schedule.

How does Advantage II for cats work?
Advantage II for cats combines two active ingredients:
- Imidacloprid attacks the flea's nervous system - paralyzing and ultimately killing it.
- Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that kills flea eggs and larvae.
This combination plays a crucial role in treating and preventing infestations, because:
- In an existing infestation, you might only be aware of the adult fleas, which only represent around 5% of the full infestation and are found on the pet.
- Immature flea life stages which live in the pet's environment consist of around 95% of the infestation and can be almost invisible to the naked eye.
What is the difference between Advantage II for cats and oral flea products?
Advantage II flea prevention is applied to your cat topically, spreading over the skin and hair. It kills fleas through contact, so fleas do not have to bite your cat to die. With oral flea medications, fleas have to bite your cat and ingest the medication before they are killed.
How long does Advantage II for cats last?
A single application of Advantage II for cats stops biting fleas for one month. However, if the cat has a severe infestation, retreatment within a month may be necessary. See product label for additional information.
How often can you use Advantage II for cats?
Use Advantage II for cats monthly, year-round to help keep your pet protected from fleas. Even indoor cats need protection against fleas because you or other pets in the household may bring fleas into the home. Fleas in your cat's environment can re-infest your cat.
How old does my cat have to be to use Advantage II?
You can use Advantage II for cats on kittens and cats 8 weeks of age and older.
Does Advantage II for cats expire?
There is no expiration date required on the packaging by the EPA for Advantage II for cats. We recommend the product should be kept in its original packaging and stored as directed on the label.
Does Advantage II for cats kill ticks?
Advantage II for cats does not kill ticks, but it does effectively break the flea life cycle by killing flea eggs, larvae and adults to help prevent infestation on your pet.
How long does Advantage II for cats take to work?
Advantage II for cats kills fleas within 12 hours of application.
Can I touch my cat after applying Advantage II for cats?
Do not have contact or allow children to have contact with the area treated with Advantage II for cats until completely dry.

Y'all, I think it worked!
By Patrick on Apr 17, 2021
I was not really sure how much the cat weighed. I tried to weigh it but that didn't work out well for me. She showed up from the woodline as a new kitten about 3 months ago, so I tried this kitten-sized one. Before application, she had fleas all over her face and body (I tried to give her a bath and that did not go well either.) and was always wild-eyed and psycho. I applied a squirter tube of the product per directions and by evening she had no fleas on her face. I checked the next morning and she did not seem to have any fleas anywhere on her except a few dead ones left behind tangled up in her fur. She is happier now and sleeps a lot better and doesn't act as crazy. I rate this product 5 out I was not really sure how much the cat weighed. Very effective for the smallest members of my feline family..
By Seven on Mar 28, 2021
I am happy with this product and have found it to be very effective for smallest members of my feline family. As with any nonprescription otc treatment protocol I urge you to carefully read the instructions before application in order to keep your fur babies safe. That being said I would recommend this product as I am happy with it and every-paw-dy else around here is too.

Good For Stray Cats
By StrayFeralFriendly on Feb 5, 2021
I recently started to care for a feral colony in my neighborhood when I noticed a group of kittens hanging about. I can't touch the adults but I've been working with the kittens for months now and I am finally able to pet them. So I was looking for some way to treat their fleas and this is perfect because you don't need a prescription. I was stealthy and got the kittens treated with this product while I was petting them (as they were eating). Now I don't have to worry about their fleas for two months. They seem much happier.

did not work for us.
By Dina on Mar 13, 2021
From day one until a week later and my indoor kittens are still itching. Very disappointed since this treatment isn’t cheap. I will have to look for some other resolution to this problem. :-/

Good Flea Stuff
By Billinthehills on Dec 11, 2020
I've had several times over my 70 plus years when my cats have become loaded down with fleas. Usually due to having to go to the kennel. Other brands have never been as effective and also safe as Advantage II. My new kitten came from the shelter covered in fleas to where when I picked her up I could see them crawling of onto me! A dose of the "small" for here (3 pound kitten) and another dose of the "large" for her house mate a ten pound fixed Tom... and no fleas. And by treating them quickly I continue to not have fleas in the house and on furniture. Good product. Chewy gives good service. I recommend Chewy to anyone and everyone!

Works great and kitten unharmed!!
By Lizzie13 on Dec 27, 2020
I was worried about using this on a small kitten, and she only weighed about 3 lbs., but she'd had fleas since she came into my house as a newborn! One must be super careful that the animal meets the minimum weight requirements, as this is a poison and if the dosage isn't perfect, it can cause seizures, paralysis and even the death of the animal. NEVER try to split doses or use even a slightly different dose than what the animal's weight mandates!! Piglette is fine and flealess today!!

I have two young cats 3 months and 7 months, I did everything to get rid of fleas. I got this and within a day they stopped scratching their necks open. I did notice as many fleas jumping on me. I think we are flea free at the moment.
