“Nice overall, but would be better with a shoulder strap! I bought this item because I wanted a carrier that would fold flat but also had a sturdy frame, so it wouldn't collapse on the cat inside when carried, and also a sturdy bottom board---this carrier checked both of those boxes (in fact, it was about the only one I found that did---so many of the other carriers that are collapsible have reviews noting that the sides or bottom collapse around the poor cat while carrying).I used the carrier for both of my kittens when they were smaller (probably 8 lbs total weight) and it worked fine, but they did get scared because all of the open mesh made them feel there was no place to hide---so I just threw my jacket over the top of it. The option of roll-down panels over the mesh would be a nice addition. At this point, I now need a separate carrier for each kitten since they're fast becoming big cats---I would have considered buying another of these, but the one thing that prevents me from doing so is that there is no shoulder strap, and no way to attach one.Although the little handle provided is sturdy and works OK, if I have to walk more than a city block from my parking location to my vet's building (which is often the case), I am really tired of holding the carrier by the time I get there---because it is kind of square, it is a bit awkward to carry by the short hand strap and it starts feeling heavy and cumbersome very quickly.I really, REALLy wish that they made this with a shoulder strap! I understand that there are design constraints with a collapsible frame, but certainly there must be some way to attach D-rings for a shoulder strap---it would make it so much easier to carry. Pet Gear, if you read these reviews, please consider a modification to your design! !But overall, if you don't anticipate carrying your pet for anything more than a few steps from house to car and car to vet, this works fine and is well constructed. Just be ready for the possibility of a sore arm or hand if you have to go any further than that...”
