spindle rods do not fit
In order to fit the space, the extension piece is needed (which, by the way, the instructions do not mention when or how it is to be used). The spindle rods do not fit all the way in to the extension, for both the top and bottom they extend an inch, so now it is too wide as I cannot manipulate the rods correctly, they need to be inserted further. The spindle rod also does not fit correctly in the right side frame half, it extends a half inch.
Not Durable
This gate worked great for around 6 months then, one morning just fell apart when closing it. I have four well behaved dogs and used this gate properly without any heavy usage. It was great until it randomly fell apart and couldn't be put back together unless welded.
Flimsier than expected, gate does not latch, other design flaws
I will start by saying that ultimately, this product is serving its purpose in that it allows me to keep the dog away from the cat’s primary part of the house, but allow them free access. Assembly was pretty simple and intuitive though the flimsiness of the fully constructed gate made it difficult to adhere to the doorway. The most maddening thing was that no matter how hard I tried I could not get the gate to latch. There’s about a quarter to a half an inch gap. Thankfully, there are pieces at the bottom of the gate that help to keep the gate closed, but you have to reach down to lift them up in order to walk through the gate. If the gate did latch, these things would probably be annoying though, as you would probably still have to reach down and lift them up because they fall into lock position easily. The other piece of this gate that is currently lost on me, is why the cat door can’t be tethered open or detached. If it’s not in the lock position, it still swings to a closed position automatically. I had to rig a couple of twist ties to anchor the door to the gate in an open position so the cats could freely pass through it.
Sturdy gate
I would have given this 5 stars but I find the button on the top of the handle a little difficult to operate. Other than that, it withstands a pack of 3 sniffling and poking through the bars. We chose this because of the cat gate. A feature on here I like but did not realize prior to purchase are the gate stops at the bottom to prevent the door from swinging either in or out depending on which way you want to open it.
Great for the kitties
We got a new Golden doodle puppy that goes after the cats. These gates were a godsend for kitties peace of mind and to keep puppy from litter box’s. So grateful for these gates. Good quality my husband said. I highly recommend.
Broken already
I put up 1 of the gates 3 days after receving and it already broke 2 days ago. The welding on a key part the holds the gate to the rest of the frame broke and can onmy be repaired by being wleded back together.
Not sturdy but does the job
We have this gate on the top of our stairs and it’s not sturdy at all. We tightened it all the way and it still bobs up and down. Also the gate doesn’t lock open for the cat opening so we have to use a twist tie. Probably wouldn’t recommend.

it looks beautiful in my living room, and it is a beautiful gate couldn’t be happier
