Maybe a problem
I do not think the final outcome was caused by this food, but. This was my 18 month old German Shepherds second bag in a row of this food and there was no problem with the first bag, but within a day of starting him on this bag (3/14/23) he had very soft stools for the 7 days he ate it, nothing else unusual. Then today (3/19/23) while we were playing fetch he suddenly laid down then tried to get up and collapsed. I ran over to him and he was in bad distress, trouble breathing. He died in my arms. I think he had a heart attack.
No more diarrhea!!!
After switching from another large breed puppy food (which was almost 2xs the price) we found this option. Our golden retriever puppy had suffered from frequent episodes of diarrhea from 2mo-8mo on the old formula. We changed to this food with no slow transition and have had no diarrhea for the 2 months we have been using it. Our puppies gas is gone, she loves the food, her stools and down to 2xs a day, stools are firm, stool dries fast and is easy to clean up. We couldn't be happier with the response our puppy has had to this food. Goodbye diarrhea!
Mostly Happy With It
My puppy loves it but, to be fair, he loves anything! He has stress colitis and nothing we tried worked for very long. He was looking painfully thin at a time when development is critical. I tried him on this and, while it hasn't corrected the problem, it has made it so much better. He's back to growing up and out and looking great. We'll be sticking with this kibble as long as it's working for him.
My dogs don't like it
I like this food because the ingredients are good and it is a decent price. Last summer I adopted two pyrenees puppies and they have been eating this food since, but they don't like it much. In the last month one has completely stopped eating it. It is nearly time to switch them to adult food anyway, but I'm disappointed that they are not as big fans of this food as I am.
Diamond Large Breed Puppy Food
Started week 8 feeding my female Lab. She Loves it. Recently had her 16 week shots. Vet says she is doing great 30lbs. I think it was great choice. I studied relentlessly for a week before deciding on Diamond...Very Happy !!
Quality food at a decent price
We tried several brands of large breed puppy food before settling on this one. This is the only one that my cane Corso liked the taste of and it also agreed with her stomach. It is also a mid-range priced food when compared to other large breed formulas.

Not a fan of this food!
I bought this food for my 5 month old standard poodle puppy and she hated it! Not even my cats or other dog (who will eat anything) wanted to try it. So it must taste like sh*t ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Also I usually have my puppy work for her meals meaning I do training and use her kibble as a reward by hand. When this kibble mixes with saliva it leaves a nasty paste all over your hands. I bought a big bag so I wanted my puppy to finish the bag before switching her to a different food but it was like pulling teeth trying to get her to eat and she had constant runny stool and BAD BAD BAD gas on this food. Needless to say, we couldn’t stick it out to finish the bag and bought a different brand for her.
Great food and value!
Have an Australian German Shepherd and she LOVES the food. Tried Merrick, but was too rich and caused diarrhea. She is perfect on this food and much happier! Kibble size is great as smaller than adult but not tiny like some other puppy food. For the price, you would think it might not be as good as some other premium food, but our pup has so much energy, digestion is great, and coat is shiny and smooth. Can't go wrong here. Will definitely be using Diamond Naturals forever with this pup.
Diarrhea since opened the most recent bag
Both of my dogs have had diarrhea since we opened the most recent bag. We have a five month old German Shepard and a eight month old boxer. Both dogs have been on this since 8 weeks. I will have to try another food and take them to the vet. There is nothing else that could be causing this. They are indoor dogs that are never unsupervised.
