Dog Treat Recipe: Puppy Pumpkin Puffs

Pumpkin is a powerhouse fall food that has many benefits for dogs. It aids in digestion and packs a bunch of antioxidants for prime pet nutrition. This recipe mixes hearty kale and tasty turkey with pumpkin for a yummy autumn snack that’s perfect for your pups.
We teamed up with Lisa Hennessy, of Your Pet Chef, to bring you this PawCulture exclusive fall dog treat recipe.
Equipment needed:
- Food processor
- Slicing knife
- Measuring cup
- Spatula
- Spoon
- Cookie sheet
- Plate or platter for freezer
Ingredients:

- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 egg
- ½ cup kale
- 3-4 oz. pureed pumpkin
Directions:
Combine the turkey, egg, and kale in your food processor and puree until creamy. Take mixture and create 1″ size meatballs. Place meatballs into the shape of a square on the greased cookie sheet and flatten with spoon.

To bake, cook at 350-degree oven for 30 minutes. Allow to cool. Remove from cookie sheet and place on plate or platter for freezing. Put the pumpkin in the food processor and puree for a minute or until creamy. Dollop small amount of pumpkin on the meat balls and serve. To store, place in plastic bag or container. They will last up to 3 months in the freezer.
