How often do I need to spray carrier for a 14 hour road trip

Answer by ChewyApr 03, 2019
Spray 8 to 10 pumps of Feliway 15 minutes before the cat is introduced into the sprayed environment (car, carrier, bedding, table for medical examination, etc.). Effects last approximately 4 to 5 hours. Re-apply as needed or if you notice a reduced effect.

Does this product have a fragrance detectible by humans, such as lavender or Chamomile?

Answer by ChewyAug 02, 2018
This product is composed of a synthetic analogue of the F3 fraction of feline facial pheromone which is not detectable by humans.

Are the 60 ml and 219 ml bottles of the exact same product? One says it is for scratching and urine marking and the other for calming the cat during stressful times/vet visits.

Answer by ChewyJan 10, 2018
The sizes are the exact some product.

Does Feliway spray bottle have an expiration date?

Answer by ChewyNov 16, 2019
Every expiration date will be different for each bottle, as different batches are constantly being produced. The expiration date will be stamped on bottle. Feliway products have an expiration date with a minimum of 18 months from the date it was produced.

I got this for my multi cat home because one cat started peeing outside the litter box and another likes to use the doorframe for a scratching post. It's a very small bottle, but I thought if it worked, I wouldn't care. However, the first few times I used it, large amounts would leak out the top every time I sprayed it! Then you have to spray it every 4 hours for it to continue working, which is not possible when you work ten hours days. And even with spraying it as frequently as I could, the entire bottle lasting me around ONE WEEK! THAT'S IT!! So this is not a practical or economical, sustainable way to handle an issue. I honestly don't think it helped as much as it is marketed to either. It helped decrease the scratching a little but did not initiate any change in peeing on the carpet. Super disappointed and feeling extremely defeated at this point.

When my cat Diego gets anxious, he sometimes decides to pee in certain specific places outside the litterbox (appears to be a territorial move against my cat Sebastian - who is not, himself, territorial). When Diego occasionally gets into a super-anxious state I spay some Feliway on a paper towel and leave it near where he might "go" and there are much fewer incidents of this behavior.

Two weeks ago one of the kittens (9 mo) I adopted in Sept. decided he’s now got behavioral issues and started peeing all over my apt. And I mean everywhere, including on me in bed. Twice. He’s been to the vet, he’s physically fine. I’ve had to start him on meds to see if it helps as he kept getting worse and ruining things in every room, but it can take weeks before they start fully working. EMERGENCY. I need help right now. My life has become constant pee cleaning. Endless pee laundry. Monday a friend suggested Feliway spray. His vet offers it on towels at the door to cover carriers if someone’s nervous. I immediately went and got some, came home and sprayed all of the hot spots he keeps hitting as well as other places around each room in an attempt to give him a chance to finally relax. About 30 mins later I realized both cats were knocked out like Dorothy in a poppy field. Both seemed extra calm all night and he actually played a little for the first time in weeks. And as far as I could tell, no popular spots to clean up this morning, though I did find one new place. This is still a massive improvement. I was waking up to at least 3-5 spots to clean a day. I think this might be one of the greatest things ever created. A few days ago my heart was breaking thinking if he doesn’t get better I’ll get evicted over the smell, and tonight while I know he’s not cured yet, this spray once again seems to have him super relaxed. This is saving my sanity and ability to keep living indoors, which I’ve become quite fond of. Thanks Feliway! A+++

I rescued 2 neglected cats who were very upset (almost feral) at me and my other cats. I have used the regular Feliway to help my cats during stressful situations (before vet visits, fireworks season, etc) but that formula did not help the very upset newcomers calm down, at least not fast enough. Less than two days (continuous hours) into the new formulation, and to my surprise, there was peace. I am using a couple at night and can't believe I am also sleeping through the night, with all these creatures free roaming in my place. I have to assume the new formulation does work.

Helpful for stressful moments and transitions. We used the spray in her carrier, on bedding, and in new areas of the apartment, and it noticeably helped her stay calmer. There’s no strong scent, and it’s easy to use as needed. A great complement to the diffuser for extra support.

I have a 7mo kitten in the house with a 15yr old grump. While they learned to co -exist sometimes the kitten is too much and granny cat just isn’t having it. This stuff I think lets the kitten know he’s safe (which sometimes hypes him up) but it does keep my senior calm. Will more than likely keep in the house!

I was recommended this to help with my cat's vet anxiety because I don't want to give her gabapentin if I have another option. I followed the directions, and the test application at home didn't seem to have much effect. It was totally ineffective at the vet. I did wait the directed amount of time after application before putting her in her crate. I'm not giving 1 star because I have a friend who this does work for, but just be aware not every cat will respond to this unfortunately.

My cat happy is 19 years old. He likes familiar things, his comfy beds and his snuggly blankets. I spray them with the Feliway calming spray and he enjoys cuddling up to his favorite things. I have used it in spraying his carrier when I go on trips with him and it calms him right down it. It does the trick every time.
