Finally! I've been searching high and low for a grain free, limited ingredient cat food without peas. One of my cats has severe food sensitivities and can't eat most things...we've been battling diarrhea for over two years while trying to find a food that agreed with her. (steroids didn't help, probiotics did nothing, even fecal transfer didn't work). I finally found Firstmate, and within two days, she is back to solid poops. I am SO GRATEFUL! Plus, the rest of my cats love the food, too. Happiness all around.

So recipe was great, did not have an overwhelming smell, but it definitely lost its favor among my cats quickly. I only managed to use 1/2 a bag before they started refusing to eat it. It is great to have in a food rotation though for cats with sensitive bellies.

I feed a mix of wet and dry food to my 2 tuxies and 1 orange boy. With three boys, they all have different preferences and sensitivities. They also live in a studio loft where it's very difficult to separate their food from each other. All 3 absolutely love the taste of this dry food, and there have been no issues with food sensitivity. My only issue is that that the kibble is fairly large and awkward shaped. It keeps jamming the automatic feeder.

Everyone likes this

We have a multi cat household. Some are very particular about what they eat, and we needed a limited ingredient formula for one of our cats who is sensitive to additives

We have a multi cat household. Some are very particular about what they eat, and we needed a limited ingredient formula for one of our cats who is sensitive to additives. We've tried several different formulas in the past and eat cat will gravitate to one they prefer over another. However, is this is placed, everyone will want it instead.

The cost

The cat needs this because he has urinary track issues and it’s recommended by the vet. It works great but it’s very expensive/over priced.

Wow. If only all cat care was this easy! I expected to hit and miss to upgrade their dry food. All 5 cats ate it right away and in 3 days they started ignoring their old dry food altogether. I am shocked! I got this because 1 of my cats (6 yrs old) recently showed signs of a food allergy shortly after I increased fish in their diet with their evening Friskies soft food. I then discovered their dry food, Iams Chicken Urinary Care has fish oil, and other junk. I can't afford prescription foods so I thought I'd try a high quality nonprescription food. It looks very hopeful at this point. My Urinary issues cat likes this far superior food much better, also. Food is medicine as they say and I feel good about providing such a healthy option for them.

I can’t find any dry cat food that doesn’t have things Shadow is allergic to.

Shadow has been tested and he’s allergic to soy, flax, corn and peas. This food is the only one I’ve found that he can eat and both my cats love it.

So far so good!

Our kitty has wet food twice a day, and a high quality kibble only at bedtime. Mixing it with the kibble I’m replacing (Dr Elseys) for now - so far she gobbles it

Our kitty has wet food twice a day, and a high quality kibble only at bedtime. Mixing it with the kibble I’m replacing (Dr Elseys) for now - so far she gobbles it up and no issues. Dr Elseys is too hard to find and very costly. This one is not cheap but less expensive and hopefully readily available!
