Description

Frontline Plus doesn’t just kill adult fleas and ticks but also slays the next generation of flea eggs and larvae. Plus, it works non-stop for 30 days on cats. Frontline Plus has 2 tough killing ingredients. The 1st, fipronil, kills adult fleas and ticks. The 2nd, (S)-methoprene, attacks flea eggs and larvae. They work together to kill all month long. Plus, it breaks the flea life cycle. By destroying the next generation of flea eggs and larvae, Frontline Plus gives you the power to help prevent a flea infestation on your pet. Frontline products are highly recommended by veterinarians for flea and tick control for cats.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How does FRONTLINE Plus kill fleas and ticks?

FRONTLINE Plus has 2 secret weapons: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. Once FRONTLINE Plus is applied, this combo stores itself in the oil glands in your pet's skin. It then self-distributes continuously for 1 month to your pet's hair and skin through the hair follicles. Fleas or ticks that come in contact with your pet are dead meat.

How long does it take for FRONTLINE Plus to kill fleas?

In a study, FRONTLINE Plus began killing fleas 4 hours after application.1 Another study showed that within 12 hours, Frontline Plus killed 100% of fleas.2

Do fleas and ticks have to bite my pet for FRONTLINE Plus to work?

No. FRONTLINE Plus kills fleas and ticks through contact with your pet's haircoat. No biting necessary.

Why am I seeing more fleas on my pet after applying FRONTLINE Plus?

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's haircoat as they die. So if you start seeing more fleas after treating your pet, consider it a victory for the killing force.

After using FRONTLINE Plus, I still see fleas in my home. Why?

The fleas you see most likely started as flea eggs that were deposited in the environment before you began using FRONTLINE Plus. Consecutive monthly applications of FRONTLINE Plus will assist with the elimination of an indoor flea life cycle. In some geographical regions in the United States, it may be required to use the product year-round.

Does FRONTLINE Plus have an expiration date?

No. As long as you keep it at room temperature and sealed in its original packaging, FRONTLINE Plus will remain ready for battle.

How long after application can my pet be bathed or go swimming?

FRONTLINE Plus remains effective for 30 days, even if your pet swims or is bathed. After application, keep your pet from getting wet for 24 hours. If FRONTLINE Plus is to be applied after a bath, make sure your pet is completely dry before application.

Can I use it if my pet is on medication?

Before using FRONTLINE Plus, ask your vet about possible interactions with any medications your dog is taking.

Can I use FRONTLINE Plus if I have already applied another flea and tick control product?

Before using, consult your veterinarian.

Does FRONTLINE Plus kill anything else besides fleas and ticks?

You bet. FRONTLINE Plus also kills chewing lice.

Can FRONTLINE Plus be used on pets other than dogs and cats?

No. FRONTLINE Plus should be used on dogs and cats only. There are specific products based on what kind of pet you have and how much it weighs. Be sure to use the right product for your pet.

Can I apply it more than once a month?

Don't reapply FRONTLINE Plus before the month is through. It keeps working for a full 30 days.

How old does my pet need to be in order to have FRONTLINE Plus applied?

At 8 weeks your pet can start benefiting from the power of FRONTLINE Plus.

  • A little apprehensive

My indoor cats have had fleas for over 3 months now. We think it was from our dog who passed away in August. My vet prescribed this but told me it would take 3 to 4 months to totally get rid of the fleas. We have had the house treated professionally twice. This is the 4th time i will be treating the cats with Frontline. I am a little confused as to some of these reviews that say they applied the Frontline and the fleas were gone in like two days.

  • Use Soresto Collars instead!

My 2 indoor cats did not have fleas until I had my brother house sit this past summer. He let four stray kittens into my home along with their fleas. After I thought my indoor kitten was having a seizure I raced it to the vet to learn it had fleas. I tried to be economical but I ended spending at least $500 in every spray and treatment. It took 3 months to completely be rid of fleas. However, if I would have used Soresto collars instead of Frontline it would have been quicker. Frontline didn't work at all. Here's some hints to help your fight. First wash your animal in Dawn Dish Soap. If it doesn't tolerate water dip a flea comb in dawn and water and then towel off cat. Use collar for animal but find a product for the home that kills FLEA eggs and every stage of Fleas. Products that say kills bed bug eggs DO NOT kill FLEA Eggs. The spray I found was RAID for flea eggs. Found it at Giant Eagle not Home Depot. A pet store or CHEWY site is best for products that actually work. The best was the white powder you sprinkle and leave on rugs- just make sure animals stay off it. There are several products that you can use to spray the animals bedding they will stop a live flea but not a flea egg. Next treat the animal with dawn and put collar on and treat house in same day. Then Vacuum every other day- (The heat from Vacuum makes flea eggs hatch) so you will notice more the next day or so but thats when you can vacuum them or my personal favorite DUCT TAPE them off your socks. BTW don't wear your socks upstairs or into any room the might be flea free. The fleas need a blood source to live on so without an animal they will eventually die. (I locked my cats in an office to keep them from spreading the fleas- but once the animal has a soresto collar on THEY WILL actually help eliminate your flea problem. I know I sound like a salesperson for the company. Believe me I am not- I just remember what an awful experience it was to get rid of the fleas. Good luck to whoever reads this- I hope it helps! … more

  • Does the job

If you don't currently have fleas in your home, I recommend this product wholeheartedly. My cat has used this my entire life. I just started using it myself when I got my own dog a three and a half years ago. It works great when you don't already have fleas in your house. If you do, it still works well but it's best to do a home treatment in addition to Frontline.

  • Worthless Product

I used this product because I thought it was the least toxic for my cats. I know seeing fleas on pets is only the tip of the iceberg and it's EXTREMELY important to also take care of the environment by vacuuming, cleaning and doing laundry (wash in hot water and dry on hot) every few days. Unfortunately, the only fleas that died were the ones I combed out of my cats and killed myself. Fleas and flea dirt were present several days after treatment. The same situation held true for my daughter's dog. When I realized it wasn't working, I did some research and found out it is no longer prescribed in the southeast U.S. and stopped working there a few years back because it's ineffective. I call this stuff the official Texas Chainsaw Massacre of fleas! We tried 3 different options before using Frontline Plus and finally! My chunky, furry ball of love is back to himself! Will be sure to apply every 30 days! Thank you!

I like Frontline for prevention, because it works really well. I wish it was a little stronger when it came to killing fleas that may already be on the animals, but other than that I have found it trustworthy in keeping new ones off.

  • Frontline Plus for Cats

    By on

Even though I could have bought this locally, you just can't beat the prices, service, or shipping with Chewy. My poor cat has only recently started going outside and that's resulted in her getting fleas and subsequently worms. This Frontline and the Bayer tapeworm pills have gotten her all sorted out and a much happier cat.

  • Worked Like a Charm

I have a feral cat I've been looking after for over two years. Being feral, I was unable to touch her until recently. Now she will accept gentle pets from me when I feed her. She was LOADED with fleas, flea dirt, and scabs from all the biting. I was able to administer this a few weeks ago and her coat has markedly improved and she isn't scratching like she used to. So happy I was able to provide her with some relief. I will have to reapply as I don't think she is FULLY flea free yet. She did have a really bad infestation though...

Ordered from Chewy and will get a new order every 90 days, simple, easy and very reasonable. She is an indoor cat, except when my husband put her on a leash and they sit on the deck. No need for flea's to come our house!
