It's an okay product
My cat was not a fan, didn't tolerate it very well. It got caught in his tangles and had to pull very hard to get it out which didn't make my cat very happy. It got some of the knots out of his fur but I won't use it again.
Amazing!!!
My Pyrenees mix came to me underweight and matted, no fault of her previous owner or fosters. She's mildly irritated by me getting her matting out, but it's working greatly and it's easier and way less scary than taking my kitchen scissors to behind her ears or her haunches. She already looks and feels so much better, I know she couldn't have been comfortable.
Great product!
My short hair cat had developed mats in her fur despite my brushing her fur. I ordered this to try before resorting to having her shaved. The FURminator worked great! She loved being combed by it, and most of the mats were gone on that first try. Subsequent combings have gotten all of the mats out of her fur. I highly recommend this product!
Didn’t Remove smallest Mats
I bought this based on brand name and it’s no sharper than a regular comb. It tugs on my cat’s fur and does nothing to remove the mat.

I though this item would actually shave the tangle on my cat. BUT is not... it just pulls the fur.

We have a cat who lives in an indoor kennel. She developed matted fur on her back and haunches. We tried several brushes and combs with minimal success. When I saw the ad for the FURminator, I ordered one immediately. It did the trick almost effortlessly and Snowball is now matt free and much happier. Works just as well on our dog too, and we used to dematt him with scissors. Great product!
Does Not De-mat Fur
I have a 15 year old half siamese half tabby. He has some health issues so he doesn't clean himself as much as he should and he does not like to be brushed. He has a thick fine undercoat and medium length top coat. I tried to use this product and all it did was pull at the mats. It did not cut them. He hated it and it caused him pain. I was better off with scissors.
Excellent!
My poor baby is a long-haired cat yet hates being brushed, so he mats fairly easily and it's difficult to keep him groomed. I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner! Not only does it break up any mats, it also combs out extra undercoat hair to prevent further matting. I also like that the teeth length is adjustable so I can adjust it based on where I'm using it.
