Our sweet Candy her long hair was matted pretty bad. I have to use the Dematter a little at a time, when she complains I stop and brush her hair with a soft brush. It's going to take some time but, I believe this will help eliminate her matted hair.
Gato’s long hair was terribly matted because he hates to be brushed. This brush gets rid of the undercoat and keeps the hair from matting.
My cat was not a fan, didn't tolerate it very well. It got caught in his tangles and had to pull very hard to get it out which didn't make my cat very happy. It got some of the knots out of his fur but I won't use it again.
My Pyrenees mix came to me underweight and matted, no fault of her previous owner or fosters. She's mildly irritated by me getting her matting out, but it's working greatly and it's easier and way less scary than taking my kitchen scissors to behind her ears or her haunches. She already looks and feels so much better, I know she couldn't have been comfortable.
My short hair cat had developed mats in her fur despite my brushing her fur. I ordered this to try before resorting to having her shaved. The FURminator worked great! She loved being combed by it, and most of the mats were gone on that first try. Subsequent combings have gotten all of the mats out of her fur. I highly recommend this product!
I bought this based on brand name and it’s no sharper than a regular comb. It tugs on my cat’s fur and does nothing to remove the mat.
Does not work well.
TOO LONG OF A REQUIREMENT KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
This is what happened to the “Furminator - Dematter” on its FIRST chunk of matted fur on my Golden Retriever. The normal furmintator we use on her for deshedding works wonderfully, but the small plastic joints on this one completely snapped at the first piece of matted fur.
I though this item would actually shave the tangle on my cat. BUT is not... it just pulls the fur.
