Why does this have corn? How is corn good for cats? Vet has recommended this for one of my cats, but I really don't feel good about the ingredients or the price.

Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2020
Corn, as an ingredient, serves as a highly digestible carbohydrate source, as well as a source of protein and vitamins.

What is the difference between "original C/D" and "C/D stress"? As long as I read product description and nutrition, I don't think "C/D stress" contains any special formula for stress.

When our cats had to switch to prescription food for bladder stones, it was a challenge. We went through a few brands and they wouldn’t eat anything consistently. This kibble l, however, is a hit! A friend recommended putting it in the treat jar. After the kitties were diagnosed, we eliminated treats so help prevent further recurrences. Well, these are yummy enough to pass as a treat and we throw a few “cookies” on top of the wet food to help the medicine go down. 2 paws up for this kibble!

The food is great my cats love it. This review is strictly based on where the delivery was placed because I didn’t even know where it was. I never have an issue

The food is great my cats love it. This review is strictly based on where the delivery was placed because I didn’t even know where it was. I never have an issue with deliveries. But I didn’t know where this one got left and it was put on my horse trailer, stuck to it and the residue I now I have to clean off.

Our cat was having trouble spraying around the house. She ended up with a UTI that we treated and then an inflamed bladder that just would not go away so the problem persisted. After the UTI cleared up ahe was fully checked out and it seemed that it must be due to anxiety. We were feeding a super healthy food so I was reluctant to switch to this because if it’s ingredients, however, we are now mixing it in half half with her previous food and it seems to have fixed her problems. Ultimately, I am super happy that it has helped her, even if the ingredients are less than desirable. I would say it truly does work!

He started having blood in his urine due to stress at age of 16/17, 2 tiny dogs moving in with us during covid was the cause. Vet recommended gabapentin and hills c/d urinary care stress prescription kibble. I transitioned him slowly. But I also never totally stopped his high quality kibble. He seems to know when he needs his hills prescription kibble and self alternates as he needs. The dogs no longer live with us be visit.

Usually I would leave a 5 star review for this product, but my most recent shipment arrived with the cat food spilled out all over the box. Since the box itself was undamaged, and everything else in the order was ok, I have to assume this happened during packing process.

One of my cats had high urinary pH so the vet prescribed this diet and gave the OK for both cats to eat this food. After 2 weeks, cat 1's pH was still high. After 4 weeks both cats had started having severe constipation (to the point where I was giving them both a laxative) and cat 1, a young and normally frisky cat, was lethargic. With the vet's OK, I shopped for an alternative urinary food. When I compared analyses, I realized that this food is very low fiber and lower calorie than the food the cats had been eating. As soon as I switched them back to a better quality food they both started pooping regularly and cat 1 regained his friskiness.

Technically, this prescription was for only 1 of 3 cats. All of them decided it was much better than what I was feeding them at the time. I open the bag and it magically produces 3 cats begging for food.
