What is/are the medication(s) in this food that helps with cat urinary issues?
Answer by ChewyJul 31, 2019
This food does not contain medication. Instead, it's formulated with controlled levels of magnesium, phosphorus, and calcium. It's enriched with antioxidants, potassium citrate, and omega-3. The recipe also promotes desirable urine pH levels.

Do you sell any mixed cases of c/d wet food for cats? Maybe some of the little chicken and tuna stews and some of the larger pate versions? I'm trying to give my cat several choices weekly.

after 2 months on this food no more crystals.

Our nuetered male cat Luke does eat this chicken and veg stew, but only when we mix it 50/50 with fancy feast chicken. when we try feeding him this alone, he wont touch it. He is a 13lb cat and does drink more water after eating this which is the main think for preventing urinary blockage. I would prefer that he eat it exclusively, but i guess overall price wise and long as i mix it with 1/2 fancy feast chicken pate , it does make this prescription stretch a bit. Everyone on here knows that prescription cat food is high priced. and it really jumped up this year. Prescription food is not cheap, but cheaper than a catheter surgery. For dry food he eats a little bit of Royal Canin SO , he does not eat much maybe 15 morsels a day, but he eats it better than he did the Hills CD dry food , he rejected that food. I really wish he would eat more of the prescription dry food. I am going to try some non prescription urinary dry foods as soon as this Royal Canin SO is gone.

Good ingredients but...

Since my cat was diagnosed with crystals in his urine, I had to change his diet-this worked. I am happy to state that the crystals are gone. However, the challenge is now what foods will he eat. The first time he tried this flavor, he ate it up. As for the product, it is very good, does what it is suppose to. His litter box smells better since switching his diet. I will keep buying this brand-just try different flavors.

Tastes as Good as it Smells

When I was forced on a special low protein diet. I had no difficulties switching over. I loved eating this stuff so much, I demanded to have at least 3, to as many as 6 cans a day. 3am Breakfast 6am Post Breakfast 8am Early Lunch 6pm First Dinner 10pm Early Midnight Snack It's difficult working on my physique. The amount of time, money, and dedication was worth every penny spent.

Sort of ok with

Cats are different, so don't feel obliged to give any meaning to this review. My cat is 18 yo, in good stead, but had 2 UTI's. She loves to eat but was not excited about the food. Would eat most of it over the course of the day because she loves food. Have to keep her on it for obvious reasons.

Prescription Food

Of all the canned food in this line of special diets - this is the preferred one that my fussy cat will finally eat. He really isn't to fond about any of them and favors the dry food but will on an occasion eat this one.

My cats never like wet food....until they tried this

Thank you for finally developing a wet food that my cats like! It's really helped them with their urinary issues - i.e., lack of going number one. Now they do consistently, and I suspect that's very good for their livers.

Me and my cat love it!

My cat was switched to the Hill’s prescription diet c/d about a year ago. Switching was easy peasy; my cat loves anything edible and eats whatever you put in front of him. He’s been on the kibble and 5.5 oz wet cans, but I recently decided to try these 2.9 oz chicken and vegetable cans. My cat and I love them! The 2.9 oz cans are the perfect meal portion, so I don’t have to put away half a can in the fridge like I do with the 5.5oz.

Dry Cans of Food

We ordered this product and have found that several of the cans were dry and we had to throw them away. I saw no defects in the can.

seems to appeal to all my cats

usually when a pet is forced to go on a special diet, it can be a struggle to get them to adapt to the food. This my cat took to right away, as well has his kitty brother and sister, who don't need to eat this, but prefer it over their regular food. so it has been a relief to switch to this
