I don't know where Hill's Prescription Diet gets off charging so much for this food. It is NEVER the same consistency, color or even smell, batch after batch. I hate that I need to keep my cat on this per veterinarian recommendation due to a "blockage" he was hospitalized for that showed no crystals or bacteria as the cause. The most recent batch is so dry and crumbly, my cat turns is nose up to it. I had to buy bone broth and am using an immersion blender to smooth it out. It's ridiculous. Often times I find odd looking things in the food and the smell can be metallic and off. Sometimes it's grayish in color, other times it's orange. It gives me anxiety to feed my cat this food. It's literally such poor quality. I have emailed the company and all they did was send coupons for their regular food line I can't use.

My cat ate the first can of this food like he enjoyed it, which was encouraging as he had seemed to lose interest in the brand he'd been eating (and he was sneaking non prescription food from the other cats.) So I purchased a case of it. Since then he just sniffs the food and won't eat it (even if it is slightly warmed) unless a lot of topper is mixed with it. I'm not sure if the topper negates the medicinal value of the food? I wish I could rate it more highly because the cans themselves seem to be sturdier and didn't arrive dented as the brand I was previously purchasing.

As a human, I thought this food smelled terrible, but as a cat mom, I was ready to accept this as my reality. Thankfully, or not because now I’m on a mission to find something else, my boy completely rejected this food. I not only tried this specific flavor, I also tried the tuna one as well, but no dice. We did have some luck with the small canned version with veggies, but this version is getting the boot.

I got Pate and didn’t realize it thought I order slivers in gravy. I have to keep shoveling it up so he can bite it. That’s just my cat. Also it is ridiculously expensive!!! I realize it’s a special prescription diet but if you look at ingredients it isn’t nearly as good ingredients as less expensive canned cat food . But it has the right ingredients for a cat with bladder issues. It is wrong to charge triple for it. We have to find a cheaper choice as this one will break us.

The vet says they MUST eat only the prescription Urinary food. They are used to Fancy Feast and just don't like the Hills prescription food they'll eat the tuna flavor when it's all I offer but they just leave the chicken flavor until it dries out. It ends up down the disposal. And they sit and howl until I give them the fish flavors or the Purina brand Prescription food. I'm sure the food is fine they just won't eat it. What a nitemare

Both my cats eat the dry food version so I assumed the switch to the canned version would be easy. Boy was I wrong. One of my cats absolutely loves it however ,my other cat won’t even try it and will refuse his food if he smells a hint of this food. I tried the chicken and chicken and veggie flavors and both he did not like. I’m now trying a different brand but will keep feeding this food to my other cat who loves it!

The anti-anxiety medication has helped his personality, but it hasn’t fixed his problem of urinating on any towels or clothing left on the floor. So I still can’t allow him into bedrooms where he chooses pillows. It is the only food I feed him, and he doesn’t particularly like it, so he has slimmed down to a healthy weight now. He can’t get to the other cat’s food because the each have separate electronic feeding stations.

My dude didn't really like the pate, and that is especially true for the second half of the can that was cold from the refrigerator. It definitely helped get him to the wonderful state of health he is now, but the stew is the favorite!
