Questions & Answers

When do you think this will be back in stock? Can you add me to the wait list?

is it possible to get a muffin of flavors?

Is this good for my dog who has recovered from acute pancreatitis, my vet has recommended low fat I/d dog food?I give him the dry but like to add some wet to his dinner.
Answer by ChewyAug 07, 2018
This wet formula is also suitable for that need under veterinarian supervision.

For my 15-lb terrier, Hills suggests over a can of this food a day. This seems like a lot! Is that really accurate? He's not thin and I don't want to add weight.
Answer by ChewyMar 06, 2018
The feeding instructions are if feeding the canned food only, with no dry food.

Diabetic/pancreatic/ possible cushings

I have had trouble with Comet eating his prescription food. After changing flavors with the same results. I called chewy and the associate set me up with an appointment with the chewy vet. She called me at the agreed upon time and helped me with another prescription food that fits the bill for so I can switch or blend the flavors to get Comet to eat the food. Plus I got a good low fat bone juice to add if all else fails. Wish me luck!!

Not for stubborn picky eaters

My chihuahua-dachshund was prescribed this for his chronic pancreatitis. I knew he didn't love it but at least he ate it for a few days... now he won't even go near it. :( I even tried to wait it out a couple days, thinking if he were hungry enough he'd eat it. That didn't work. Offered him something else (just some low fat kibble) and he ate.. so it's not a matter of his feeling sick.

Mischief loves it!

My dog who is a Chihuahua and weighs around 8 pounds survived Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome. It was awful and she could have died. She didn't eat for 2 weeks. Not a bit. The vet sold me a can of this and when I saw it on Chewy, I ordered some. She eats well now and I know it is good for her. The vet approved the order as they checked with her.

Every shipment has dented cans

My dog likes this food mostly. I would rather get small cans of the regular low fat instead of large cans. It is so expensive and the cans are poor quality. Every single shipment has dented cans - some in the middle of the flat so not likely the delivery company's fault. Chewy usually refunds or replaces but its a hassle because you don't know how many defects you'll get each time so you need to adjust the timing for the next order.

Not as good as I expected

I used to buy this directly from our vet. My dog has always been a bit neutral about it. Sometimes he liked it sometimes it is just ok or ignored. The first time I bought it only, he in effect refuses to eat it outright. Odd. I will say yes to the product in general as it worked in the past.

Prescription pet food

Excellent and expedient service and order delivery was faster than expected. Highly recommend using Chewy for all your pet needs. Ordering Buddy’s food through Chewy has saved me so much time and money not having to drive 30 miles to the vet! Thank you Chewy for simplifying my life!!

Paying for a Case of Dog Food Without Sample

Normally Hill's Science Diet produces great dog food products. However, the current fad is to add carrot chunks to everything! That is fine and my dogs do get fresh carrots besides their regular dog food. This particular prescription diet is NOT geared towards small dogs! Yet, it is described as a diet for all dogs, including small breeds. There are too many carrots in this dog food and it has been causing my small Pomeranian to have blood in her stools. Her stomach is too sensitive for so many carrot chunks and have to pick the carrots out before feeding my dog. I had to pay for a whole case of dog food I will never use!! Why doesn't Hill's Science Diet and other dog food manufacturers allow customers to try a can or two before making them pay for a whole case???
